Mama Clorinda is a great place to be introduced to Ecuadorian food. Very tasty empanadas, potato soup, lamb stew, and sea bass (yummy!). Very helpful waiter.

Though famous for local Ecuadorian food, I found the place disappointing for vegetarians. The food was so and so and the portions were small. The service was average

I found this by accident but am so glad I did. Its within easy walking distance from several hotels. It's located in a busy area with lots of restaurants and taverns. The service is good and the food is even better. They have a good selection of Ecuadorian cuisine, beers, drinks. I tried several dishes and each one was wonderful.... More

Nice three stories high restaurant a block away from Plaza Foch. Get the table by the window and you have perfect viewing point to observe very busy street below. Satuday night was so busy on the street that cars were stock in traffic jam. Good variety for vegetarians, not easy thing to find in meat loving Ecuador. Very friendly staff.

We were looking for good examples of Ecuadorian food and found it here. The atmosphere is nice and quiet, the portions were just right and the view over Foch Square was nice for taking in the sights. Be sure and try the Locro!

Enjoyed dinner here with a group last week. Great food at reasonable prices, the service and decor were great. Beef Empanada is one of the best I've had, very different than the typical yellow corn or flour empanada I've had.

I am writing this review as I am waiting for my food, that we ordered 45 minutes ago. Still nothing... Still waiting... We got the drinks pretty fast, one of us (out of 4 people) got served after 5 minutes, others are waiting. Can't say anything about the quality of the food, but for the service at least, I can't... Good local restaurant serving Ecuatorian cuisine. We had the following items: Seco de Chivo, Locro de Queso (soup), choclo con queso y habas (corn on the cob with cheese), Humita (traditional ecuatorian specialty with cheese rapped in a corn leave) excellent, Llapingachos (grilled mix of mashed potato paties with cheese fillings), ceviche de pescado, Menestras is a bean stew that... Ecuadorian cuisine restaurant just off Plaza Foch serves tasty national specialties . Try the llapingachos (fried pancakes of mashed potatoes with cheese) with steak or, for the adventurous, cuy (guinea pig). Mama Clorinda's as the place to have traditional Ecuadorian food.
