The food was great, I would recommend the arroz especial. Its atmosphere was lovely as it overlooks the courtyard. The service was out of this world. The wait staff were lovely even though they spoke little English. Segundo spoke to our table for at least...20 minutes and was charming.More
We had a wonderful lunch at Hasta La Vuelta. We enjoyed 2 plates of empanadas which were fresh and tasty and a bowl of Locro de Papa (the traditional potato soup) which was delicious!!! We weren't hungry enough to try the many delicious items on...the menu so we vowed to return for dinner.More
A reservation is needed but one does not get disappointed. Loved the place (fancy location and great atmosphere), the service and the food.
We had a good meal here with prompt service. You have to walk up to the third floor and they have restrooms. Food was good, but for the price if it’s a late night option worth it, but for lunch look elsewhere for better quality...and lower prices. Not a tourist trap, but prices exceed locals. If in plaza grande at night worth a chance to make it feel more like an American restaurantMore
Stopped in for a quick lunch while sightseeing. We had the Locro de Papa (Equadorian potato soup) -US$7 and a chicken club sandwich- US$8 Whilst both were great and packed with flavour, I would have appreciated having a hotter soup.
Great atmosphere in colonial period building opposite the cathedral in the main square. We both had soup, my wife had Fanesca (which apparently is normally a Christmas delicacy in Ecuador) and I had potato soup, Locro de Pata, which sounds boring but both dishes were...really tasty.More
This place was recommended by our tour guide; it is very easy to get to, right off the Plaza Grande. The setting is really charming on the third floor (no elevator) of a colonial era building overlooking the courtyard below. The menu has many options...for vegetarians/pescatarians. Our meals were all delicious, as were the drinks. There was a keyboard player the evening we were there and he started with lots of Latin music, but when he found out we were from the US, he began to play North American and British music--"Careless Whispers!" A memorable and delicious dinner for our first night in Quito.More
Ambiance , ambiance, and ambiance. The 4th star is for the ambiance. Beautiful charming courtyard balcony which formerly housed offices now has restaurants in ech floor. This one is on the second floor and seating all around the square space with a view of the...courtyard below. Food is good but nothing to write home about. Service is fast and efficient. They have a lot of local fare and right in the center on old Town. A good try if you are around the area.More
The restaurant is in a historic building in the town square and looks Marvellous. Beware it’s in the top floor and there is a look alike in the first floor. Food is lovely and comes to the table super fast. Ambience is great and this...alone is a good reason to visit.More
We chose Hasta de Vuelta solely by the consistently good reviews. Don't know what happened but our experience was disappointing from beginning to end. A hostess pasted on a smile as we entered the nearly empty restaurant and showed us to the table closest to...the kitchen door and cash register. They allowed our request for a better table and we moved. The rest the service was perfunctory and inattentive. We both ordered a shrimp dish with a lemon sauce. It was dreadful. The shrimp were tough, stuck to their shells and probably had been cooked ages ago and then reheated for too long. They had lots of garlic but no lemon sauce. In retrospect maybe we should have sent them back but language barrier and travel exhaustion made us choose to eat and leave. Our second last dinner in Ecuador was a complete disappointment.More
Great local food in cool colonial building in Plaza Grande. Loved the locro de papa, seco de chivo, and fitada
In the heart of the historic center. Large menu that has many traditional dishes. Very touristy, but the food was very good. My husband had the breaded steak and ceviche, and he said the flavor was really good. I had the homita which had good...flavor and the empanada trio. The empanada trio said it was vegetarian on the menu, but one set of empanadas had meat which was not good for a vegetarian when biting into it. Portions were large . Price was quite high for Ecuadorian standards, but food was very good.More
Great restaurant - fabulous location with exceptional food and excellent service. Live background music is nice addition and as tables are set around the 3rd floor of a courtyard, you have no one crowding your space! The background story is also a wonderful addition!
Well located, nice atmosphere, great service, delicious food. Dishes are between 10 and 20 dollars. They have a great selection of Ecuadorian, sea and vegetarian food. Everything is in Spanish and English. The portions are very good.
