This week, we had an unforgettable lunch experience at the Summer Pavilion in the Ritz Carlton Singapore, and want to share the adventure with you. The ambience was stunning, with elegant decor that infused a sense of tranquillity and sophistication. The meal was a culinary masterpiece, showcasing the chef's delightful array of flavours that beautifully highlighted the best Asian cuisine. Each dish was artfully presented, creating a feast for the eyes and the palate. From the first bite to the last, every moment felt special and exuded a sense of refinement, making this dining experience exceptional. First of all, the service. When we arrived at the hotel's entrance, every staff member we encountered greeted us with a smile and a hello. We asked for directions to the Summer Pavillon, and not only was the staff member courteous and helpful, but she also said, 'Come this way; let me show you.' This was a simple and charming gesture, making guests feel instantly welcome. The room was bustling with energy, yet somehow still cosy, with some perfectly tuned music playing softly in the background. Once seated, we turned our attention to the food, and the menu was quite extensive. To help with our ordering, we enlisted the assistance of Chun Wai, the masterful conductor of the room. He was both helpful and entertaining, guiding us in customising our choices to match our tastes and lunchtime appetites. We opted for a variety of small dishes to share, eager to try as many options as our stomachs would allow. Wa Ling was there as well, helping to bring the variety of small plates. She was lovely and professional—attentive without being overbearing. The entire experience of the Summer Pavillion was so enjoyable that I've booked a reservation and will stay with the hotel during a visit next month. Overall, the bar for Cantonese dining is now set very high for the rest of our time in Singapore. Can I give them more than five stars?

My family of 10 booked a table for dinner for CNY. Service was impeccable by Kelvin and his manager. Kelvin was very attentive and acceded to the various requests without hesitation or showing any signs of displeasure. Food was good, though with CNY pricing it can be considered expensive. Family thoroughly enjoyed their experience dining at summer pavilion.

Summer Pavilion is one restaurant that has all the ticks. Good ambience - quiet, tasteful and not overpowering. Excellent food and service. Our family came here for CNY celebration dinner, Gery and Chun Wai put together a delightful menu that had dishes par excellence. The Salmon Yusheng paired with deep-fried spicy salt silver whitebait was a gem. I would recommend this CNY must-eat to those who are visiting this restaurant. Next, the double boiled fish bone soup with a big piece of soft fish maw and wolf berries was done to perfection. Looking at the colour of the soup, you could see that it had been doubled boiled for hours with generous and quality ingredients. Kudos to their chef for transforming an ordinary steamed chicken into a flavoursome one. The yellow-skin chicken was served with generous braised dried scallops bits. One bite of the chicken, you could taste the 'sweetness!' The jewel on the crown - Steamed Dong Xing grouper with dried bean curd skin and minced garlic. The garouper was about 1..2 kg but it was steamed to al dente. Kudos to the chef who controlled the perfect steaming time. The service staff were attentive but never intrusive. Compliments to Gery and Chun Wai for running a tight ship! To sum up the sentiments, I have to borrow my 86-year-old mother's comment :"After this meal in Summer Pavilion, I cannot eat any other Yusheng elsewhere. Even a straight forward dish like braised vegetables, they have done it so well!"

I last visited Summer Pavilion for a ROM dinner in one of the private dining room in Aug and now I am back again dining in the main restaurant. On both occasions although very different dishes were served, they were of the same fresh, high quality, refined and tasty to the point I was salivating in anticipation of the next dish throughout the evening. Being my favourite go to Cantonese restaurant, this is my first review. The warm welcome, the exquisite ambience (my fav is to be seated facing the hotel main lobby with the humongous Cornucopia), the highly individualised attention and description of each dish from each of the service staff in attendance and lol even the Chefs popped by. Oh! The beautiful n colourful hand-painted Italian tableware made a difference to the dining experience. This is by far The BEST and my favourite 1 Star Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant locally and I highly recommend a Die Die MUST TRY. Special thanks to Chef Kong, Chef Kent, Gery, Lisa, Keion, Kelvin, Janice & lastly Chun Wai who is a gem and an exemplary valued champion in SP. Lovely thanks to my treasured friends who sprang a surprise birthday celebration.

My family and I had a wonderful dinner at Summer Pavilion in the middle of this month. The meal was to celebrate a special occasion for my parents. The Chinese food at Summer Pavilion was high quality and excellent – Greatly appreciate Gery for arranging a special menu! The staff were warm and attentive. And Gery and his team made the meal more special by decorating the table and providing a written card to wish my parents. A big thank you to the Summer Pavilion team for their outstanding service and making our family celebration a memorable one!

We dined here during our visit to Singapore and we were really turned off to how judgmental the waiter was. We ordered the tasting menu and at each course he would inspect my dish and express his disproval when I did not finish my food. Sometimes I did not finish because I was too full and sometimes because I did not enjoy the dish... either way, chastising me was not appreciated. He actually inspected my birds nest soup and gasped that I did not eat it - this course was definitely not for me. Then he had the nerve to say that I should not have ordered the tasting menu. That I should have ordered Ala Carte!! Some of the dishes were very tasty -- like the duck and the grouper - but I think you could have a way nicer experience elsewhere.

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our dinner. We didn't want to order the set menu as it is way too much food for us. The manager Gery Lee was very kind to help us ordered. The dishes recommended were not only delicious but also perfectly portioned, ensuring we could savor each bite without feeling overwhelmed. The ambience of the main dining room was delightful, and despite being seated there, we were pleasantly surprised by the tranquil atmosphere that allowed for a relaxed conversation throughout our meal. Our experience at Summer Pavilion exceeded our expectations, and we are already looking forward to returning soon.

My husband and I came here for our 30 yr anniversary. After being shown the menu our head waiter Chun Wai catered a menu to our taste and we were not disappointed. First accompaniments were brought out by waiters Janile and Grace. We began with seared giant scallop and giant prawn ( the prawn was cut on the underside and it was easy to pull out the meat) Next course was a bbq medley of meats ( pork, chicken, jellyfish and duck)- these were shown to us first and then served to us with our head waiter applying the accompanying sauces to each of the meats. Next sea perch was served followed by wagu steak cut in cubes both equally tasty and perfectly cooked. This was followed by Signature lobster and rice ( lobster broth with crispy rice surrounding a bed of steamed rice with infused lobster oil) lobster pieces sat on-top of the steamed rice - all very tasty. Upon some small talk Chun Wei took note that it was our 30 year anniversary and with his accompanying staff brought a beautiful display of small deserts to the table and added dried ice to create a smoky effect. Our meal was wonderful because Every effort and attention to detail was observed by all the staff.

Celebrated my birthday dinner over there and I was really blown away. Finished up all the food because it was really delicious and the portion was just nice. Was very nice and cosy setting and Karen who serviced us was really attentive to make sure we always get hot tea. (They literally change a new pot for you) thank you for also swapping the complimentary cake for us to longevity buns and the plating was amazing. Had a really wonderful and memorable time there!

I wanted to love this place. The Peking duck was so delicious, the wok fried prawns were perfectly cooked. The fish noodles weren't to my taste, but I think that's me, my husband loved them. My issue was service. I'd read that the staff was so good about helping you sort what you wanted on the menu. That didn't happen. No offers to explain anything, when I asked an explicit question, I didn't get a satisfactory answer - for example - there is a whole page in the menu called "Live Seafood" so I asked what different preparations they offered. I was directed back to the wok fried prawns. I asked about other preparations for prawns or other seafood and was again directed to the wok fried prawns from another page. What?? So I feel like I wasn't being helped so much as just pushed in one direction. And, we ordered a bottle of wine thinking we'd have a lovely, leisurely meal. We were served like it was an IHOP. Three courses one after the other, literally fork down, something cleared, something immediately brought over. Our $300+ US meal was completely and totally served to us in less than 45 minutes. We spent another 30-40 minutes finishing our wine without any food left. I just don't get it. Ultimately despite the excellent food it was an unsatisfactory experience.

Came for a simple family dinner before CNY, warmly greeted by the staffs at the reception and was taken care of by Chun Wai. Chun Wai was very professional and made good recommendations for the dishes. Service was also very personalised, with him and his team being attentive throughout. Food was served at a good pace and piping hot. Every dish was unique and delicious, impression given that it was carefully curated and prepared. Great ambience, good food, good service, definitely coming back again.

We have set lunch and half a suckling pig to celebrate my parent’s jubilee wedding anniversary. Though there was some cock up due to sudden power failure at the kitchen, Lisa Cheah, assistant manager, Laura and their fellow team mates did their best to make us feel comfortable by providing their top notch services to us. We are really appreciated by their effort and extra mile service to fulfil my sister’s wish to try the dim sum egg tarts which was initially unable to bake it due to power failure at the oven. We also would like to thank the chefs for making effort in fulfilling all the courses in the menu. Kudos to both Lisa Cheah, Laura and these wonderful kitchen chefs. We have a great time and wonderful experience. Will definitely revisit this place and hope to meet these wonderful staffs and chefs again. 😊

Went back for my regular monthly/bi-monthly meal at Summer Pavilion. Food was great as usual, and so was the service. Glad to be hosted by our regular hosts Chun Wai and Karen, who made me feel welcome through their good hospitality and service, including making recommendations on what to eat. Kudos too to Dunstan too who has joined the team - Dunstan was very attentive to our various needs, and very eager to help and learn. Shoutout to Kate too, who helped to make the experience extra memorable. Wanted to add that the dim sum menu has been updated - many of the new items, including the mapo tofu dim sum, are must-tries!

Celebrated my dad’s birthday and I was so fortunate to have Chun Wai as our waiter to make recommendations! He was very attentive and made sure our cups were filled with tea and made sure that we were enjoying our meal. He made the experience even better and we received complimentary dessert to celebrate my dad’s birthday. So glad I came! Huge shout out to Chun for making it such a great experience and memory. 10/10 recommend. Food quality does reflect the Michelin star standard. Great variety and excellent texture/freshness.
