Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked this though Eatigo for a family dinner. I was well aware of the fact that there is an a la carte offering and a buffet. It is however neither spelled out in the Eatigo presence nor on the restaurant’s website that you have...to sit outside in order to eat a la carte or in other words that you can only sit inside if you go for the buffet. It was coming down very heavy when we arrived and we were not dressed to sit outside anyway. The waitress offered a seat inside but pushed us to either go for the buffet or forego our Eatigo discount. What? I would not take it and requested to settle the matter after our dinner and certainly not in front of our guests. The food (from the a la carte menu) was decent in good portions. It still left some space for desert though and when we ordered ice cream, the waiter said that they were sold out for the day. Hmmm. OK, let us go for the 4x more expensive Tiramisu then. To my great surprise, the Tiramisu came with …. you guessed it right, ice cream. What a nice way to encourage guests to spend more! I call that a cheap trick. This left a very sour taste, especially given that I have a major Bonvoy membership. Would I recommend the place, NO. Not with these improper practices. There are too many other places to eat at. Sorry, Marriott.More

We have been regular visitors to Crossroads Cafe since almost 30 years. When we visited in January, after a few months break, we were in for quite some unpleasant surprises. Someone had decided to change the menu. The longterm signature Wagyu Beefburger has been renamed...and the recipe has apparently been changed. Classics like the chicken rice have disappeared from the menu. Alternative meat options are also gone. As service was also not as good as in the past we decided to leave after our drinks and dine elsewhere. That's when we got another surprise, as we were charged with 12 SGD for a 0,3 l can of soda water, making costlier than a beer during happy hour. As mentioned, we have been visiting Crossroads many times over many years, always looking forward to reliable good food and pleasant service. However, due to the latest experience we may no return...😒More

We stopped by twice yesterday 12-01-23. First for a drink and enjoyed sitting at the front people watching sipping on a Tiger beer listening to great music. Second stop we decided to have some dinner. All the dishes we ordered were tasty and very flavoursome...and yes we would order them all again. Washed down with a refreshing Tiger radler or two 😋 The staff were mostly attentive. However, we didn't appreciate every time we asked one of the male waiters for something he clicked his fingers at a female waitress and asked her to serve us, he never served us once from all the times we stopped him. We did see him serving male diners and topping up their water. We felt it was beneath him to serve us two women. This needs to change!! The guy in the black suit who seemed to be managing the floor was great and he recognised and acknowledged us that we'd been in earlier in the day. Yes, it is expensive but it's attached to a hotel. We would definitely eat here again.More

First let me start by saying that the only reason we went to this cafe was to wait out the weather. I had a tea and my friend had a Pepsi max. When the bill came it was astronomical. 29.11 SD. How could the cafe...justify those sort of prices, especially as we’d had an Americano and a water in the Marina Bay Sands hotel earlier in the day, which only came to 11 SD. Almost one third of the price. THIS WAS A RIP OFF make no mistake. The setting wasn’t particularly good either, as it was close to the underground with people constantly walking past. I will never be going back to the crossroads cafe ever.More

In a world first the food arrived before my beer. Ordered again and they asked if I wanted another beer, this after 35 minutes waiting for a drink. Then got tired of waiting for the rest of our food so asked to pay the bill....They said we will bring to your table, waited 15 minutes no bill so told staff I was leaving and I wanted to pay now, believe it or not another five minutes standing at the bar to pay the bill before someone who could accept payment arrived. Worst service ever and would certainly not return what a joke. My companion was so angry that she left the bar and left me to deal with the issue lol. Checked the bill and removed two items we had not received.More

For the first obviously there was a shortage of staff and in return we as the guests have to wait a long time to served. Not the fault of the staff, they were literally running to do their job. I should say that the management...is bad. More waiters and waitresses are needed not the opposite and it seems that it is like this every day. It wasn’t like this before. It is a pity really because the location is very good but the service standard has dropped tremendously. SHORTAGE OF STAFF.More

The Asian food is amazing and had wok hei! The roast duck and pork were absolutely amazing! Snow crabs are always good and they also have Parma ham on the buffet line! I like their lamb chops but unfortunately it's on rotation basis... Desserts are...great especially the ice cream. Movenpick's ice cream!!! The down side of this is that the place has poor ventilation... Occasional perspiring when having heaty food. Otherwise, it would had been even more fantastic.More

I went with my family for a buffet dinner in the Cross roads buffet cafe. I was not staying in the hotel. Probably the worst and most disappointing dining experience at Marriott of my life. 1- Buffett is priced quite high(100 $) per pax and...there were very few choices for us as vegetarians. Ideally the restaurant should discount the pricing for vegetarians as hardly 30% of the items were good for a vegetarian. The chef was kind to make a mix vegetable dish for us. 2- Quality and taste of the food was below average for Marriott level restaurant. 3- The staff appeared to be busy with themselves despite the fact that it was not much of a crowd/ rush. The restaurant manager/ black suit guys didn’t even come towards our table to look at the experience the guests are having. Most other staff was busy with themselves. Very unlike of Marriott hospitality and a complete surprise for me as a long time Gold Elite member. 4- The staff was not even looking at the fact that plates have to be cleared after a course is done. I continued to pile them on the table but they were simply not paying attention. I don’t feel like it was value of the money and time spent. We all came back very disappointed. This is not a Marriott experience!More

The spread of food for the buffet was good but a little too salty. The ambience of the restaurant is pleasant. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was set at too high a temperature, hence making the place a bit warm and stuffy. Excellent service captain (She...Hui). She provides excellent service and is attentive to details. Great job!! However, the restaurant manager was a little disappointing. She just instructs her crew to act when she could have handled the guests request directly herself.More
