Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After almost 3 years it was fantastic to go back to Singapore for Chilli Crab and Drunken prawns at Jumbo Seafood at East Coast Seafood Centre. There is really no better place to dine on Chilli Crab than here

We ordered a menu for 4-5 people, usually more then enough for family of 5. First course, the oysters, were not available. The lady offered clams instead….this should have been a warning signal as not a fair trade. As we are not very fond of...clams I turned this down and we settled on prawns. 2nd course the signature dish of the restaurant, black pepper crab but what a disappointment. We lifted the big shell and nothing but bony pieces of leg with hardly any meet. According to the lady it was 1.2kg of crab. As we have had crab before many times I know what a 1.2kg crab looks like and this was not even 1 kg and dare to say it did not even make for 800gr. I asked for a scale so we could see, but of course this did not happen. In the end we cut the menu short and paid for the shrimp and got another one kilo crab (still small) and left as we did not feel like spending any more time in a place that does not welcome visitors. Being the only foreigners had, for sure, something to do with it. Just as we got a the table outside even though we booked well in advance. We did not care but other people with reservations were given a table in the aircon only walk ins ended up outside and the tourist. We lived in Singapore and love it therefore hoping other visitors have a good time to so please take a bit of advice, avoid this chain and go for Jumbo seafood (grumpy staff always in a hurry as it is busy busy but the food is excellent and you get what you ask and pay for. They give all customers the same treatment.More

Been coming here since the 90s... and while there are many branches in Singapore and Tokyo now, the original at East Coast is a must just for the atmosphere. Just order up a big 2-3kg sri lankan crab, fried rice and cold beer. Its all...you need.More

there are quite a number of seafood restaurants located at this seafood centre. Large open carpark is available. Because of seafront, you will enjoy every visit regardless of daylight or night. A must visit place for all visitors.

Chilli Crab and Black Pepper Crab - delicious! We also enjoyed the drunken prawns and fried baby squid. Take a taxi or use Grab to get here. Remember to wave off the peanuts - they're not free.

We eat at East Coast Seafood Centre each time we visit Singapore. May be a little pricier than some other hawker venues, but we find the service and food exceptional. We have eaten at a few of the restaurants and they have all been excellent....The black pepper crab is our favourite. The other great thing is that it is right on the bay and the view at night time is lovely plus there is usually a nice breeze. Can't wait for our next visit!More

You pretty much get very consistent food and service at Jumbo. I come here often when I have business dinners as many people want to try the Chilli Crab. I don’t eat that much crab anymore but it’s still a good feed. A little on...the pricy side.More

Went to Long Beach to satisfy our crab craving. We just had crab with a family friend 3 days ago at another restaurant but didn’t get to eat much so this was to make up for it. Ordered 2 black pepper crab of 1.5kg each....Yes the crab was good but the price for each crab was more than 1.5x of what we had paid for 3 days ago. At X restaurant which serves really amazing chili crab, we had a 1.5kg chili crab for $90. At Long Beach, the 1.5kg black pepper crab was $147! We paid almost $300 for 3kg crab which is $100 per kg! I thought that was exorbitant. Definitely out to make tourist money.More

This is our usual family celebration and seafood resturant. It never fails as for consistency of food quality especially the chilli crab, drunken prawns and mee goreng. We are here to celebrate our family member birthday. They allowed us to keep the birthday cake at...their fridge. Please reserve the seat in advance. You are choose the outdoor tables facing the sea or the air con enclosed area on the upper level. Chili crabs is a must. Please check out the seasonal price for the day. Drunken prawns is also a must order. The soup is delicious and don’t waste it. It has liquor boiled with prawns. This, use discretion to feed your young ones.More
