The first thing I noticed was the exotic smell on arriving at the Tekka centre. There is a market behind the food stalls vegetables, raw meat and raw fish, all very interesting but I think when they clean down each day all the guts, blood...etc go into the drain and once subjected to 36c and 70% relative humidity serves up this exotic smell. It didn't put me off though! I carefully selected my stall where I chose the mutton masala, khasmiri naan and a cold juice from sugar cane with ginger and lime. The naan was fantastic which I used to absorb all the tasty masala sauce. The mutton was not existent it was just bones!! I don't know if you're expected to eat them but it was pretty hazardous sifting through in the hope of a piece of mutton. Anyway I rate it 4/5 was super tasty loved the experience really did feel like I was in India.More

Anytime family or friends are in town we make sure we take them to Tekka and those returing ask to go. Heavily Indian however don't miss amazing non Indian stalls like Whampoa Prawn Noodles, which has been in business for several generations and rightly so....Our go do to Indian stall is Dehli Lahori. Many other great stalls to chose from, these are simply two that stand out.More

Great place for Indian food and local drinks. I love to venture further into the Chinese/non-halal side. The yong tau foo stall serves delicious and fresh food and loved the service the young couple provides. You can get some pretty good snacks too.

Being situated in Little Indian naturally you should expect this hawker center to be predominantly Indian food which it is with a few non Indian stalls in there too. We found a few great stalls and had some great Indian at great prices. Well worth...a visit and cheaper than Newton Food Center which is a 5mins drive away.More

Well! I am foodie and I will go crazy if I see lot of food around. If anyone visits this place, they will land themselves in a food Paradise. The best part is variety of food and the worthiness. Food was warm, aromatic and delicious....Specially Indian food is more available in this hawker center. I went there with a friend of mine and we both were impressed. I would recommend friends pleas ego if you are nearby that area. Note - Social distancing is little bit challenging here due to small space and lot's of people. So please consider this fact.More

The smell and aromas in the air around Little India are amazing and cant be described in text. Just go and explore the area, we were there on a Sunday and it was extremely busy. The market seems totally unorganised and chaotic on the ground...level, but we tried the food and it was delicious. Upstairs is what I'd describe as a clothing market and less busy. A great experience and not expensive. Big tip, avoid the toilets and find one somewhere else, they are not the best and I'll leave it at thatMore

The wet market has come a long way since my time as a child living in Singapore. The addition of food centre selling a variety of favourite local dishes makes the market a unique and an exciting place to visit for tourists to get a...better taste of the day to day morning activities of the locals. Enjoyed the food and very reasonable prices.More

This place is a bit of a shock to your senses in a lot of different ways and mostly in good ways. For a European downstairs seems very chaotic but amazingly everything just works and you get used to it after a while. Upstairs where...the clothes are is much quieter and civilised. Definitely worth a visit.More

Overall the food at the Tekka centre is very good, they have a large variety of food in many different stores, the prices here are also extremely cheap and good value. However the food court is in disgusting conditions. People smoking indoors, dirty tables, animals...like rats and cockroaches in eating areas and also people spitting and blowing snot in sinks used to wash plates and many more. Although the food is very good and also comes at an amazing price I can not get over the conditions and hygiene problems.More

Researched this food outlet before arriving in Singapore and what with it being close to our hotel, fancied trying the butter chicken and the freshly cooked garlic naan. To be honest the food was ok, nothing out of the ordinary. I just wished I had...closed my eyes or worn a blind fold whilst eating as some of the clientele and surroundings were a little off putting to say the very least, the 20 or so pigeons that were devouring a tray of left over food a few tables away from us was certainly testing my gag reflex to the max. It’s a shame, but I really wouldn’t bother if I was you.More

If you want amazingly delicious and authentic Indian and Punjab food at ridiculously cheap prices with an interesting atmosphere, then the TEKKA Centre is a must-visit destination! We went here for lunch and dinner several times because the food and drink were so good and...the dining experience was so unique. You are spoilt for choice in what you can order so spend some time wandering around and looking at what the locals are eating before jumping in too quickly. Not many Westerners around, but don't let that put you off. Be brave! Take a chance! Order something by pointing at the pictures and whatever you get will be excellent! Also spend some time taking in the sights and sounds of the place, people watch and explore the fish market and textiles above and below street level. It's also conveniently located near temples and other tourist attractions and a short walk from the Little India MRT station. Definitely a place you need to include on your travel itinerary! :)More
