My wife and I came here to experience our first ever Singapore Sling, which we did and found it quite nice if not a little expensive. But it was a one off so cost doesn't really matter. A quirk of the bar is that peanuts...More

I must confess I've been to Raffles & the Long Bar on previous occasions and have cloudy, boozy and sugary fond memories of those visits. I had heard that the entire hotel will be shuttered later in 2017 for a renovation so I had to...More

Enjoyed a celebratory drink here with work colleagues. Couldn't resist the Singapore sling and the peanuts were a quirky surprise.

Hard to enjoy the heritage of this building when there are moths flying around you everywhere! We moved seats to try to avoid them but it was impossible. I suspect the moths must come from the bags of peanuts that are served at the bar,...More

It's iconic, a singapore sling at the Raffles Hotel. The hotel exudes the old world charms and its amazing just to sit there and take in the beauty of the building. Eating peanuts and throwing the shells on the floor- a bonus.

My grandmother lived in Malaya pre-war and I have notes and photos of her time there. She was on one of the last two ships that got civilians out alive and back to Britain before it was lost to the invading army. I often recall...More

Popped in for a few drinks before our meal at the Tiffin room. We had a Singapore slings & Raffles sipsmith gin. Yes it wasn't cheap but you wouldn't expect it to be and to see everyone throwing nut shells on the floor was an...More

With Long Bar undergoing restoration, our iconic Singapore Sling experience will continue to be served here. A light snack menu complements our renowned cocktail as well as an extensive list of other cocktails and spirits.

The Singapore Sling, widely regarded as the national drink of the country, was first created in 1915 at the Long Bar in Raffles Singapore by bartender Ngiam Tong Boon. It later went on to gain international fame and a century later, is still enjoyed around the globe. To learn more about the Singapore Sling, please click here.

Regarded as the oldest existing bar in its original location in Singapore, Bar & Billiard Room is an institution within Raffles Singapore. It occupies a standalone building built in 1896, and was the first in the country to have a lady bartender stirring up a storm in the 1920s. Inside, chandeliers hang down from the high ceiling and the floor tiles are replicas of the original. One of the five original billiard tables from the turn of the century can be found there, where guests are welcomed to play a round or two. Picture windows look out to the surrounding thick foliage, interrupted by elegant cast-iron frames that compose the terrace.
