Absolutely great restaurant. It's all fish just as a heads up. We had tuna steak, fish rolls is delicious pumpkin curry sauce and super juicy kinilaw. The Deco and layout is great as well, very arty crafty. When we arrived we were told 20mins wait for table and it was probably more like ten. There are sit on the floor tables and sit in chairs and they made sure we got chairs (my dad can sit on the floor, but maybe not get up again!) Service from waiters was friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend!

Best food in Puerto Princessa. We had the set menu and was impressed with how much food we got and the quality - the rolled fish in coconut sauce and sizzling tuna steak were both top notch. Also a really nice place to eat - it’s a cool room and the staff are good too.

We had dinner at Kalui due to high ratings and recommendations online. Didn’t start off great as they didn’t have any fresh prawns, crab or lobster ... so had the prawn skewers and tuna steak .... both were ok, but the soup and dessert they give as extras tasted like they were free. Best course was the seafood starter in batter, which was nice. Overall a fairly average dining experience in a nice venue that promised so much more. Want to give 3.5 stars but can’t and think 3 stars is a bit harsh.

I can’t see what the hype is about this place... yes, the setting is very nice, and the fruit juices, especially the mango papaya juice were amazing! (The highlight of our visit!) Apart from that, the food was served to us cold, the squid I ordered was chewy and tasteless (apart from a weird Teriaky sauce which in my opinion doesn’t match well at all with this dish). Service was poor, our waiter seemed like he had a bad day and did not smile once or offer anything else than one word answers, very unhelpful. The truth is, we forced ourselves to eat half of our tasteless cold dishes but ended up leaving to have dinner at another restaurant. Conclusion: Come in to have a juice before going for dinner somewhere else. PS. No wifi

We came to Ka Lui because they supposedly stocked Palaweno (microbrewery) craft beer. They did not!!!! Not wanting to 'chase' somewhere that stocked craft beer, we decided to stay - they had 'bums on seats' always a good sign for us. The structure is a series of rambling 'huts', but is clean and well organised. The wait staff attending us was efficient and quietly friendly. Our order came quickly and we were delighted at the relatively simple presentation, the good taste and the balance of flavours. We enjoyed deep fried reef fish with a light salad and plain rice. We accompanied that with fruit drinks (really nice). The price was very reasonable. Given that Puerto Princessa doesn't have a good reputation for dinner options, we would recommend Ka Lui. Our dissatisfaction at not having craft beer (though on the menu) nor other western drink options (eg. Gin & Tonic) results ina 3 instead of a 4.

The place is nice, looks real good, but they have very big rats running on the walls to the roof just above people. After we’ve seen this we could not appreciate any more the food. When I communicate this fact to our waitress he told us to speak with the manager not looking surprised or being interested in the subject. Overall, even without the rats the place is overrated, investing more in the look of the local versus quality of services.

We enjoy fish dishes, so of course we visit Kalui. Little bit disappointed when the waiter at the time we order tell us that the two different fish dish they don't have. So we have to choose two other, that happends with fish dishes, but better if the waiter tells that before. My wife take another fish dish, that come in more or less cold, but even worse the fish was dry, not juicy. I order grilled squid, same here, more cold than warm. The squid taste grilled, but some parts was unfished. Our lack of time give us not the option to ask for renewed dishes.

An experience we will never forget..this bahay kubo themed resto in Puerto Princesa truly enhances the Filipino dining culture. With a touchy art and homey ambience, and sumptouos seafood that will fill your tummy,it's definitely worth it. What adds to the vibe is the barefeet experience... Step in and leave your shoes outside and dig in.

The last time I was this happy with a restaurant was when I had dinner in Aspic, a restaurant which earned a Michelin star a few months later. Keep up the good work! Who knows, they might eventually earn a Michelin bib or even a star. Now allow me to enumerate why I love this place: 1. Delicious food! I don't eat eggplants but their eggplant tempura was exquisite! Crisp, no trace of greasiness and served with a sauce that tastes similar to chili. Blue Marlin steak was served straight out of the pan, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Buttered prawns and fish roll in coco cream were also excellent. For the drinks I had Calamansi-Ginger shake which is refreshing and invigorating. 2. Cozy-artsy ambiance This is an open air restaurant in which you have to go barefoot. The entire restaurant is filled with numerous artworks by local artists, and is surrounded by a charming well-maintained garden. 3. Great service We arrived at 13:30 and they were supposed to close by 14:00, yet they still entertained us. Service was fast, got everything in less than 15 minutes. They were also friendly and invited us to check out the other artworks that we might have missed after we had our lunch. 4. Reasonable prices There is even a meal for two that costs PHP 795 (15.90 USD) 5. Accessible It is along Rizal Avenue and I think every tricycle driver knows this place Reminder: They are open from Monday to Saturday at 11:00 to 14:00 for lunch and 18:00 to 23:00 for dinner.

Minus the eating using your bare hands (which I don't think they prohibit?), this pretty much shows you to the traditional way of how to enjoy Filipino food. However, covered by all the aesthetics and friendly accommodations by the staff, are the pretty okay food. I'm not saying the food's bad, it's just that it didn't really match our expectations, what with the ringing endorsement of pretty much anyone we asked in the city regarding their restaurant recommendations. Overall, good experience with okay food. By the way, be sure to reserve seats before going there as the restaurant gets packed. Dinner reservations are for 6pm or 8pm.

Wonderful restaurant with a great atmosphere. Unfortunately no options other then seafood on the menu - absolutely no chicken beef pork ect, so be aware if you don’t like or can’t eat seafood. Staff was awesome! Loved the art everywhere

Restaurant is classy with an instagram-worthy ambience. It’s best if you have a reservation first especially when you come in big groups. But food is worth the wait in case you just walk-in and be put on the waiting list. This place was recommended by our local tour guide. So my husband and I tried it out. Good thing there’s still an available table for two. We enjoyed their seafood dishes. Servings were good enough for the price you pay. They’re good for sharing. Location is within the strip of bars and restaurants along Rizal Avenue. Just an added note: You have to leave your footwears at the entrance. They have drawers/lockers for them.

Shuttle setting, fine dining , clean & neat uniquely ambient conditions with additional artistic good foods. We ordered a few seafood items and must say and recommend their menu for seafood lovers. The hospitality is nice and the best part of my visit was that they provided me my curated request for certain cuisines and they gladly made it. Thank you all , it was a good experience overall.

First time here, but very nice experience. Good food, nice ambiance and we felt very welcome too. Barefoot restaurant with lots of nicely decorated tables to choose from. Mostly Seafood and fish in the menu. Had the tubataha salad as appetizer, tuna and seaweed, lots of papaya and mango with cashew. In this combination not common, but still liked it. Shake and Longdrink for 120-150 Pesos fairly priced. Had sizzling seafood and eel adobo. Both nice taste, eel the better choice, portions a bit small though. Also rice should be inclusive, not to be ordered extra. Service charge comes on top also. Fresh fish by weight quiet expensive in my opinion. Half kilo shrimp was 1.540php, which is a lot for Philippines, where you get that for 200php at the market. No wine sold by the glass, only bottle. Think that could be improved. Overall nice experience and for us the much better choice than for instance very busy Ka Inato opposite the street, where I really miss the service and even left yesterday as no one helped us for 20 minutes. Not cheap, but different than the others. We will definitely be back.

The restaurant was higly recommended by the locals of Puerto Princessa and thus we had to try it out. From the outside, it is not recognizable but when you enter it feels like you are in someone’s home. You need to remove your shoes as everyone walks barefoot inside the restaurant. The restaurant serves fresh seafood from fish, squid to even havinf lobsters. We did not expect to have such a wonderful time eating here that we had to cone back for another round. The seafood they serve are all fresh and perhaps was caught on the same day. This is perhaps one of the highlight that we had in our trip to Puerto Princessa
