Tugu Kunstkring Paleis is an Indonesian Restaurant with very unique interior decoration. It is known as the best rijstafel in Jakarta. The building is huge, like a palace, with big furniture and antiques decoration. It is instagramable. I suggest if you want to come here,...you should a dress a little bit fancy or glamour, so your photo will match with the ambience. I used to came here for an annual party, year end party with Gatsby Theme, or birthday dinner. To celebrate visitor's birthday, the waiters team usually will give Batavia dancing ceremony. It is very interesting and great services and hospitality.More

We wanted a “rijsttafel” experience. We got it, including a good dance performance before they started serving food. Food was reasonable, not exception, but good enough to give one a sample of traditional Indonesian food. And the setting is about the Dutch occupation and, to...a degree (not enough?) about how tha Indonesians have moved on since they became Independent. Ask for a tour through the premises.More

We Had dinner. I have to say that the service was exceptional: both friendly and attentive . Decor is authentic antique. The food was tasty . I would certainly go back .

I counted at least seven rooms, divided between the restaurant's/gallery's two floors, available for dining (an elevator facilitates easy access to the upper floor); this Saturday evening we chose a room behind the main, ground-floor Pangeran Diponegoro Room. The food and service were again excellent....I opted for soup and a beef entree from the Dutch-Indo menu, another had French soup/entree, and two enjoyed Indo salad/entree. Our party's four drinks included two alcoholic beverages, both the champagne-based Golden Suzie Wong which contains edible, 24-karat gold. We had to return to our hotel before seeing the folk dance performed by the staff. With tax and service the total was less than $30 USD per person. Highly recommended :).More

Just went for my birthday dinner with my friends, we’re a party of 4, first of all, what a place! It is a historic building in Menteng area with inside decor a mixture between old Indonesian antique, peranakan and old chinese decoration. We sat in the...suzie wong bar area which mostly red decored, with an 1920s shanghai feel to it, very nice. The food is gorgeous, yes the price is a bit up there but I think it was all worth spending. The staff surprise me with a birthday sing-along, a slice of cake with my name on it and a rose! the overall staff are very well mannered, full of smile, excellent picture taking talent. Not for everyday dining, but so worth to try during special occation. But I think I will be back by myself for that gorgeous Tahu Telor :) Keep up the smile, keep the vibe and keep the tradition!More

Everyone should at least visit Tugu once just so to enjoy the incredible interiors. A Dutch colonial house that was converted into a restaurant, the walls are adorned with art pieces depicting Indonesia under Dutch rule. It is like eating in a museum. I also...liked the private rooms - we took the smallest one with capacity for 6 guests, but there are larger private rooms available. The food is pretty decent, service is excellent. The price is just about right for fine dining in such a stunning place.More

The interior of the bungalow is amazing decorated with Indonesian and Dutch artifacts and paintings. Food was Indonesian Javanese and has it own unique taste. They even had Javanese dancers to entertain you. Worth a visit.

The restaurant is quite impressive for its when the Dutch was the government with impressive decor. After impressive cocktail drinks during happy hour and also desserts, we were extremely disappointed in the entrees. Both my wife and I had very bland entrees which we did...not finish.More
