Basic decor, homemade dumplings and cold dishes. A great alternative to the various "cookie cutter" outlets nearby. Reliable, cheerful consistent.

Was attracted to this due to the initial reason that the next door Maks Eatery was closed and that the signs on the door says it had been listed on the Michelin Guide before. Went in to try the Pork Ribs rice, The Mince Pork Cold Noodle and the Scallop Dumplings. The Pork ribs was tender and well seasoned and... More

I had the dumplings with noodles and it was so delicious. The food was fresh and not too salty or oily.

This can hardly be considered fine-dining, with limited space, plastic seats and a tray of pigs' ears taking up the table next to us but when the food is this tasty at THIS price, that simply does not matter. A friend and I got through 3 plates of different kinds of dumplings (they come in tens; the combination of prawn,... More

I try this restaurant incidentaly. Actually I was looking for Mak Noodle in same street but unfortunately it was close due to renovation. Looking at this restaurant full of crowd so we assume it must be something good there. As their explain their signatures menu is dumpling, so we order noodle dumpling and 1 portion dumpling. It taste just fine.... More

This was our first attempt at eating and ordering a meal in Hing Kong. Very easy to understand menu, good, tasty food and very friendly. You may have to share a table as it's very busy but the who shared with us gave me a lesson on using chopsticks. Very cheap

A friend highly recommended the place, and he was spot on. It's a simple, unassuming place. You may find that you have to share a table with others. They specialise in dumplings, but do noodles, soups, etc. Ten dumplings costs about HK$50-60, and it's $10 more if pan-fried. There are a few varieties of dumplings, including vegetarian. Mine were delicious.... More

We're fairly adventurous diners, but this was a really terrible experience. The food smelt so bad I could hardly bring myself to try any of what we'd ordered. The meat inside the dumplings was unidentifiable, and not fresh and generally foul tasting. The bbq pork smelt weirdly sweet, was poor quality meat - full of fat and gristle, and soaked... More

Well I tried all kind of Dimsums all over HongKong but here is the best. Fresh, home made steamed in front of you and tastes like heaven. My personal favourite is prawns, shrimp, scallop and yellow chives. Absolutely melt in the mouth. So if you are looking for the Dimsums only lunch- this is your place. Highly highly recommended.

OK, so I noticed the reference to the Michelin guide on the door of a hole in the wall on Wellington Street. Not sure whether I should believe it or not (but it is absolutely true, as a bit of googling ahead of this review proved), but I tried it out. I ended up eating 87 times here on a... More

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
