Good restaurant in soho. Small, intimate. Good wines to go with your lamb and plenty of desserts if you're into that kinda thing. A little on the expensive side, but you pay for what you get. Good.

Read about this bistro in Trip advisor however when we sat down we kinda got a feeling that we might somehow be disappointed as we found it difficult to communicate, plus the place was not very busy. However when the food arrived, we struggled and failed to find something to fault it. Food was simply great and delivered in all... More

Cafe de Paris: what a wonderful restaurant - a hidden gem! The style and ambiance so typical of a bygone Paris. Loved it from the time I set foot in it. I ordered foir gras to start - excellent, seared to perfection! Served on a bed of apple with orange sauce. Ragout of lescargo -- with morels - served in... More

Over the years, I have had some really good meals at Café de Paris, and some that were just so-so. It is an attractive small restaurant, and I appreciate it that they are still on their Elgin Road location in SoHo, which remains one the special dining areas in Hong Kong. On this particular night, it was not all that... More

had nice mussels in a good sauce, bottle of Champagne and a bottle of water, all good prepared. the waiter had no experience with champagne as part of the bottle disappeared on the table! Always keep the glas next to the bottle when opening!

Nothing except the decoration is french in this restaurant. I'm french and I like to try french restaurants in HK, and this one is one of the worst. First, I've ordered escargots (snails) sold as braised snails with herbs.... and the escargots (2 or 3 maximum) came in a small pot with a lot of sauce and vegetables for 108... More

This place is one of the few still on the Staunton/Elgin triangle after some quite heavy turnover of restaurants in the area. This suggests it has something going for it and that appears to be the case, having visited for the first time after about eight years (I moved out of the area). We had the set lunch, which was... Having reviewed this restaurant a few months ago, my wife and i decided to again enjoy this restaurant, but sadly we were left disappointed and hungry. The service was poor and not attentive, at times we had to wave to get there attention, which given there were over 3 active tables in the place shows a lack of attention. The... More

New chef and management have ruined what was a little taste of France. We sent food back, we waited forever and then low and behold no cheese to finish the meal. NO CHEESE in a French restaurant come on people. No wonder you are giving away discounts to try attract customers. How about you do the basics an get it... More

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
