Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

I walked in here by chance on the verge of eating my arm. It was 16:00 and I had been sightseeing all day. I wanted something light and satisfying as dinner was in a few hours. There is a huge menu of dim sum. You can spend ages looking at it. The dim sum comes in a portion of three. Once you have decided, there is one of those paper order cards where you tick what you want. Give the paper to one of the staff when you are ready and they will input your order. Wait for your food! Very clean. Diner type place, simple, dark decor. Better for a quick eat. Staff were pleasant but had limited English. As a solo traveller, I just ordered one set of King Har Gow (Shrimp Dumpling) and Poached Baby Chinese Cabbage (Choy Sum). So good! Freshly made, nicely presented and delicious. The dim sum was delicate and simple. The Choy Sum had a really nice garnish on it. Food will come as and when it is ready. There are chopsticks and condiments like soya sauce on the table.

This is a small dim sum shop and you'll probably be asked to share a table with other people. The dim sum is of a very good standard and is served relatively quickly. The restaurant is a bit cramped and fairly basic but that doesn't matter as the food makes up for that. Unfortunately they have one or two grumpy staff which reminded me of Hong Kong service 30 years ago but the owner is very friendly. Part of the experience though.

I went there right after they opened, so there was no wait time. I was alone, so I was seated with other customers. There was a form on the table, which you fill out and order on. There was a wide variety, and the portions were large. I think it would be fun to go with a group and share. Your hands can get dirty from the sauce and broth, so it's useful to have some wet tissues. (I wonder if they'll give you paper napkins if you ask the staff?)

Seeing the reviews I was excited to try this spot while on my 12 hr layover in HK. I took the AirPort Express train into the city and walked to this spot and was met with utter disappointment. I ordered 2 items that was 72 HKD total, which is a little expensive for what it was… it was 3 pieces of fried shrimp and foie gras dumplings and a spare rib and chicken feet over rice. There was like 3 little pieces of spare ribs and half of a chicken feet… and the dumplings had essentially no foie gras. I asked the waitress about why there was no duck liver in it and she pointed to a few specks of brown and claimed it’s melted. It was literally like a half pinch of brown dust lol. The food was so mediocre that I would not recommend anyone wasting their time, money, or calories

As a tourist you don't always know where to eat. Here we had excellent Dim Sum. The waiters don't speak English, but we quickly understand that he has numbers chosen from the card and recorded on the order sheet. I highly recommend this address.

This spot is excellent for authentic dimsum. The bbq pork buns, Xiao long bao, hakaw, garlic squid easily stood out. Service was excellent as well. Will definitely be back

It has been 4 years since I dined at Ding Dim and 4 years later they have moved to a bigger and better location on Wyndham Street. This new location is an advantage as there are no other dimsums nearby except Dragon I. The menu is much the same but I like the dimsum sets which has most of the popular dimsums for sampling at $85 with vegetarian options. The dimsums came pretty fast after giving them my order. I love the hargaus as each one was plump and springy loaded with fresh prawns. My next favourite was the fried dumplings with foie gras, a lovely dumpling that brings back memories of my visit on Elgin. The pan fried sweet and sour beef patty was really appetizing especially the sweet and sour sauce which tastes just as good as the sweet and sour in Chinatown. I was nice and full after I had the steamed spare rib rice.

One of the famous dim sum restaurants in Hong Kong. Located in the busy Wyndham Street, it's popular with the locals as well so tourists would have to compete for tables as the place was small and cramped. Ordering was easy because the menu has English language and pictures on it.

We ordered 200+ dim sum bento for the office and lots of good feedback from colleagues. Very tasty dim sum, good variety, friendly staff, efficient delivery. Will definitely order again!

Wow - super delicious dim sum, which is worth going after. The service is friendly and it is easy to order: pictures + English menu. You can order a table, but we came to without reservation and without waiting time. However, if you are a group I would recommend that you book in advance. The place is quite small.

Excellent value and authentic dim sum. We throughly enjoyed everything we ordered and to be quite honest ordered way more than two people could ever eat. My husband ordered the pan fried rice rolls and I was really skeptical at first, but they ended up being the absolute most delicious little morsels. The location can't be beat - right next to Lan Kwai Fong.

Among so many restaurants in Lan Kwai Fong, Ding Dim is unique in serving authentic Cantonese dim sum. Every thing is freshly prepared, not en masse. Food option is aplenty for both locals and tourists. Steamed squid in curry sauce is our favorite. Beef tripe in black pepper sauce is good for more daring diners. Price is great especially with the Eatigo discount. The only issue is the minimal air conditioning.

Chanced upon this restaurant while walking around Hollywood HK. We sat at second floor. You have to mark your orders on paper. Dumplings were 3pcs per order. Chicken feet were very tasty. So were the pork barbecue buns. Restroom on ground floor

Came here last July for the first time during my visit to HK. Love the dim sum, no waiting and able to book online! Raving to my family and friends in HK afterwards. Visited HK again for CNY and brought my mom with me. She loved it, too! Mind you, we are a foodie family and eat at many Michelin stars restaurants etc around the world. Will visit again in my future trips again! A new found fav for yum cha in HK!

Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
