conveniently located, serves rather authentic HK food like congee, dimsum, noodles. Service is a little abrupt and definitely not 5 star but you gotta get used to it. Just eat and go!

The century egg fish congee was fresh and hot. A great breakfast option. The place is clean and there is a number of items to choose from.

We had porridge which is so smooth and creamy, goes very well with the hugh crispy crullers (you tiao). Carrot cake top with XO sauce was so yummy. Love it! We also have the super thin fried noodle, so thin that we thought we were eating beehoon (vermicelli). Good place to have breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper !!

Variety In case you missed it, the store was called a “porridge shop”, so the main stay was porridge. But just like other HK cafe, stuff like fried noodles and dim sum-ish stuff were sold there. I was looking to taste as much food as possible, and t my (pleasant) surprise, there were sets that offered tasting portions. I went... More

Another hot pot style meal to try. I tried light porridge and soy milk base hot pot. They also serve a portion meal. Very nice, the only thing i think a bit overpriced was the you tiao (fried dough... I dunno what the english name 😅)

Comfort congee in a trusted chain restaurant. Nothing like soothing congee if you're not really up for a large meal or anything that might upset your stomach. Good portions, fast service.

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
