After a 2 hr walk there's nothing better than to finish here for a delicious Chinese meal. We usually go for early supper to see the sun set but yesterday had a morning walk and a late lunch with our visitor. We love to sit on their pier and catch the breezes while enjoying our food. We had squid with salt, tofu with chilli and minced pork. Schezwan chicken and baby bok choy with garlic. They always put the beer in an ice bucket and give cold hand towels too. Then it's only a 5 min walk to the ferry back to Aberdeen or Central. Perfect.

Had a nice lunch at the Lamma Hilton overlooking the water - plenty of locals and westerners dining - food was good along with nice cold Tsingtao. Plenty of local restaurants in Sok Kwu Wan but this is the one we return to.

Fantastic food & the Salt & Pepper prawns are totally delicious. Don't just take my word for it as Rick Stein wrote about them too.

Expensive seafood, but that's why we're here; to have expensive seafood. Very busy place. We reserved a table and our junk captain delivered us right on time. Seafood is best fresh and given the turnover of this place, the seafood is as fresh as you can get. No fish feeling neglected in its tank for days. Variety of seafood is better than other restaurants on the strip, hence the turnover, hence the freshest. We started with staples like calamari in salt n chili and beer. And the food rolled in from there. For a party of 8 with all the best from the restaurant, expect around $800 per head. But you can have a less extravagant but still good meal for half that price.

With so many seafood restaurants in Lamma a distinguishing feature is needed. The Hilton - and don't be confused, it's not a Hilton - is not it. It is fine, serves good seafood freshly caught like all the other restaurants. The food is well cooked. The beer selection is poor with no local beer served. All in all an average dining experience.

Great food in this place; experience wise: Most probably dressed too simple which i just find dressing code is so important in this place in order to deserve good service. Anyway, i have not further comments about this place.

We had a very enjoyable seafood dinner here, the calamari was some of the best I've had. It's hard to believe you're in Hong Kong, it's so idyllic, feels more like you're in Thailand!

I visited Lamma Hilton with a friend who works in Hong Kong ; we had a table right by the waters edge. We ordered a mix of fish and seafood. It was all superb. I am sure the cooking helped but it was the freshness of the ingredients that shone through. Perfect calamari and prawns. We also had a steamed fish along with a veg dish of celery with cashew nuts. It was all washed down with a very reasonable priced bottle of Cloudy Bay. The sun was shining which added to a perfect lunch. The service was a bit quirky. No napkins until we asked and bizarrely they didn't notice us for 10/15 minutes when we sat down then suddenly realised we might actually be customers instead of squatters. When we did actually get their attention the staff were very friendly. That aside it was great food and reasonably priced for the quality. Big tick, well worth trying if you visit Lamma Island.

We had the fixed price HKD 888 menu for 4, and there was not one dish that wasn't terrific. They were very willing to make some changes -- like a dish of steamed bok choy (Chinese cabbage) that one of our party wanted. They also gave us choices on how the fish (a snapper) would be made. Everything was incredibly fresh (a lot of the food is swimming in tanks when your get there and is pulled from the tanks when ordered) and well prepared, with each dish having a unique taste. The best thing was that everything was light. No heavy overcooked or over-fried food. Even the fried rice was world-class with large pieces of seafood throughout. While this restaurant obviously has no connection whatsoever to Hilton, that's what it's called. It's one of the furthest restaurants from the ferry pier, which means it's only a 3 or 4 minute walk. You will enjoy it. I've been going there for many years and have yet to be disappointed. Hope this review is helpful.

This review is about the Lamma Hilton Shum Kee which is towards the south end of the Sok Kwun Wan restaurant strip. i.e. you turn right when you get off the ferry. (Confusingly there is another restaurant called "Genuine Lamma Hilton" which is at the north end - i.e. you turn left when you get off the ferry. I have never eaten at that one and I don't know anything about it). I have eaten at Lamma Hilton Shum Kee twice. The first time was in 2004, i.e. 11 years ago. That time I was with a large group. On that occasion the group was very happy with the food quality and amounts. Also some beers were provided free of charge. The second time was in November 2015, i.e. this month. It was with a group of 12 people. This time I was the person who chose the restaurant. I stupidly expected that the experience would be the same as in 2004. This time we ordered the minimum price HKD 2,000 "banquet" described on the menu as suitable "for 10-12 people". In fact the quantities of all dishes were very stingy. They were certainly nowhere near suitable for 10-12 people. They would have been suitable for about 6 people only. The food quality was nothing to write home about, but it was acceptable. However, the quantities of all the dishes was ridiculously small. Even the fried rice dish at the end was stingy size. I was extremely embarrassed to have been the person who stupidly selected this rip-off place. After paying the ridiculous HKD 2,000 everyone went home still hungry.

Situated right at the end of the restsurants, this gem was recommended by family & I definitely wasn't disappointed. A seafood banquet of squid, prawns (possibly the best I've ever eaten!), crab, Singapore noodles, scallops & fried rice was perfect , you couldn't get fresher as the table we were at was right on the waters edge overlooking the fishing village. Absolutely perfect food!

Came here as part of a group. Excellent sea food, with a good variety of choices and good value. Nice outside seating area and a good range of drinks. Will definitely return.

Been quite a while since we ate here but we were not disappointed. Previously we have always been in a party of 20 and tried 20 different dishes but they now cater for couples with 5 set menu's for 2 persons and the choices are excellent. This is still by far the best seafood restaurant at Sok Kwu Wan.

After an extended stroll turned walk turned hike exploring beautiful Lamma Island we stopped at the Lamma Hilton for a sunset feast. My husband had been here before and to be honest I was a little put off when we first sat down. For a variety of reasons I was hesitant. The entertaining waiter quickly disolved my concerns and very promptly organized us cold beers. I had no interest whatsoever in any of the set menus but rather went directly to the well stocked fish tanks and hand picked my selection. The price was fair and I told him exactly how I wanted our food prepared. They staggered our order so that dishes came out timely not all smack down at once and were perfectly attentive (ie. no where to be seen expect right beside me when required) After our long day swimming walking and discovering I was a little foggy when paying the bill. I had a left a tip but couldn't recall how much. When I approached the cashier to re check she presented our bill, returned the exact amount I had given her thinking I was disputing the bill and I added an extra 50HK$ The staff were graciously thankful and polite and I honeslty felt like tipping again (not a common theme for me I can tell you!) All in all a wonderful meal, a beautiful table by the sea at sunset, cold beers, live seafood, good prices and jovial service. Perfect.
