Great little pub on the escalators. Happy hour starts at 3pm and this is what brought me in. It gets packed with the after work crowd with people spilling out onto the walkway. Everyone seems to know each other and it has a great neighbourhood feel. Outdoor space is tiny so get there early to claim your spot on the... More

I've lived near The Phoenix since it opened, and visited quite a few times years ago when it had a great reputation for food and was a no corkage BYOB place. Time moves on, it's been under new management (and partial ownership of the Enoteca group) for a while, and I finally got to pop in for supper with a... More

In my recent week's visit to HK, I visited The Phoenix three times. We did not try the food but were very impressed with the beers and wines on offer. The local Gweilo IPA was very good, with a selection of wines to suit all pockets. They also serve wines in quite large glasses so it was good value. Happy... More

We only had 2 days in Hong Kong . In late afternoon went to explore the 800 m of escalators in mid levels. It started at a Central .spotted the Phoenix bar about three quarters of the way up. Popped in for a happy hour drink then stayed for a meal. Lovely pasta dish and also chicken and mushroom pie... More

This is a bar with one open wall facing the escalator. The entrance is often crowded with smokers whose noxious reek pervades the whole place, covering your food and your clothes. The beer selection is very limited - only 4 or 5 selections on tap.

Lang Kwai Fong has gotten cheesy unfortunately. But don't despair because up one flight from the LKF pit, just off Wyndham St, is the escalator to SoHo which is filled with great bars/restaurants w/o yobs throwing up in the streets. Up that escalator, up up up, sits The Phoenix, a neighborhood spot filled with upmarket locals/expats, the occasional Canto Pop... More

Very lovely cozy place! Great atmosphere. Feel very homie and friendly! We enjoyed food. Burger plates cost 158hkd I think (for my hubby) and i had ordered salad (because they dont have much choice for people who dont eat meat). Salad cost around 110hkd i think. Also had dessert - all desserts 68 hkd. They have some more signature dishes.... More

Great beer and wine selection with friendly staff and extended 2 for 1 happy hour pricing. Very reasonable price for available meals. Bar has it's regulars and plenty of passers by who are just travelling past.

Description
Twenty years old and still going strong The Phoenix is one of Hong Kong’s longest established pubs. A wonderful mid-levels watering hole with a fare selection of draught and bottled craft beers and an extremely tasty gastro pub menu to suit.
Whether it’s a last drink on the way home from work up the escalator, a social hang out with mates, dinner with friends or a full weekend brunch with the family, The Phoenix offers a warm and friendly’ neigbourhood’ environment away from the hub-bub of the city and continues as a HK favourite.
