Came for the xiaolongbao, and was not disappointed. Definitely double down on the crab ones, very excellent. Also pleased with the pork buns, and the spicy chicken dish added a nice bit of heat to the meal. Staff were friendly and helpful, spoke enough English...to make up for our dire lack of Mandarin. And very good value, two people ate for just over NZD $50 - that's good value where I'm from!More
I love dumplings in general and while visiting Beijing, desperately wanted to try Soup Dumplings for the first time in Beijing which are usually easily available in Shanghai. Basically they are dumplings with soup inside them along with meat, and when you eat the whole...dumpling at once, the flavours and soup bursts in your mouth. Super Delicious. Found them at this restaurant and ordered them. (Truffle and Pork XiaoLongBao in the menu). Loved them!! I would go back again if I can't find them anywhere else, but found the restaurant a bit on the expensive side compared to other restaurants. Still, it was good food.More
We went to Din Tai Fung on a Sunday for lunch without a reservation and got in right away, even though it was busy. The service was good, with a menu in Chinese and English, with good photos of the food. Everything arrived quickly. The...food was hot and served by pleasant staff. The prices were good.More
On a previous Asian trip my wife and I enjoyed dumplings in Taipei at this well known Taiwanese chain. The branch in Beijing was within walking distance of our hotel. The business model seems to be to locate the restaurants in shopping malls, and like...the Taipei branch, the Beijing restaurant appeared very popular with locals. The menu is quite large, with many dumpling offerings, including a new chocolate dumpling (which we did not try). We filled ourselves with pork, chicken, and vegetable dumplings and came away quite satisfied. Soup dumplings are filled with a savory broth, which leak from the dumping when punctured with a chop stick. They helpfully provided English language menus with instructions on how to do this. I would recommend Din Tai Fung as an accessible and fun dining experience for Western travelers who might like to try something different. If you can't go to China or Taiwan there are branches in the U.S. now.More
Delicious dumplings. They have such a large selection. The pork and mozzarella dumplings were our favourites. A must try when in Beijing!
Excellent dimsums in a nice restaurant. 2 storey reataurant very popular among locals. Our best order was the ones with porc and soup inside.
This is to die for dumpling restaurant. I never has such great dim sum in my life. Great food and great value. I could not believe my eyes how inexpensive it was for such great food. This restaurant was also considered top 10 world restauranrts...in 1993 and had michelin star.More
Very good indeed. Six is us went with a Chinese colleague who made ordering very easy. Superb food. The beer was somewhat pricey.
Never disappointed byt the food at this place. There is a very large choice of steam food, with my favorite being the xiaolongbao. I also love everything they prepare with shrimps. The waitresses are friendly but dont expect any words in English. Also very quiet...place upstairs. Highly recommendedMore
Excellent food, quick service and friendly staff. I ate pork and truffle dumpings... they forgot to bring me fresh ginger. A soup with shrimps and pak choy and for dessert the excuisite hot chocolate dumplings! I can only recommend this famous food chain.
I am an avid customer of this fine restaurant. The food is always fresh; there's a wide variety from which to select; their service is exceptional.
Good restaurant with traditional chinese cuisine, the quality of the food is excellent, the staff is very attentive, we enjoyed our dinner, recommend to visit
I have eaten in several Din Tai Fung restaurants in Asia and the results have been varied. This one is located on the top floor of an upscale mall. I had actually eaten here about 7 years ago and was my first introduction to Din...Tai Fung. The dim sum is excellent and varied. Other places don't have the assortment. But, it is not only the variety. The quality of the food and the presentation is excellent. A little more expensive than your average dim sum restaurant but worth the price.More
