For first-timers I recommend getting the mixed dish (available in vegetarian or meat), shiro, and shekla tibs (goat meat with rosemary). This will give you a sampling of a lot of different things and will feed 3-4 people.

Went there for lunch at habesha. Must try the chilli shiro and the doro whatt. The ambiance is very ghetto style and could put you off easily but the food takes that away.

Very good friendly service. The food itself was ok but far from amazing. We tried the mixed platter and also a goat curry. To be honest it all tastes like food from a shopping mall food court. Not bad. Not brilliant.

They need to improve customer service, add wifi and change the restaurant seats they were abit tricky to do a date night
