Excellent mezze, OK entrees (roasted duck, others had mixed grill). The atmosphere is "languid" with folks hanging around tables trolling their phones and large round traditional metal table tops.

Loved the decor, Eastern rustic. There are separate little rooms for personal group dining. The food was good; I preferred the starters! Main meals were wholesome and full of flavour. Service could be quicker. Lime juices are wonderful. Certainly, I would go back.

The restaurant was pleasant, full of tourists. Ibrahim, our waiter, was attentive and kind. He kept his cool when one particular tourist was incredibly rude to him. Food was good, particularly for vegetarians. Thanks very much!

I always knew that travelling to Luxor alone as a woman would be a little difficult, but after a long day sightseeing and a little sunburn, I was unprepared for the leering and catcalling on the main street of Luxor as I searched for a restaurant. Finding Sofra was a sanctuary in all the craziness of the town. The rooftop... More

Nice place, cook ok but expensive for Louxor. As we did not come with a guide, we were left for a long time waiting whereas local people where served immediately.

I had a very nice meal at Sofra on my last trip to Luxor. The restaurant is off the usual tourist path, and I missed it completely the first time I set out to find it. It's well worth a visit for the fresh juices and delicious shakshuka. Prices are beyond reasonable and the ambiance is perfection. I look forward... More

Tasty food in a nice restaurant with gorgeous furniture and a beautiful terrace. They made every typical Egyptian dish much better than anywhere else in Luxor and most of Egypt. Large selection of mezze. Prices are fair. Vegans (and vegetarians) will find here a large selection of soups, mezze (like Tahini, Hummus, Vegetables in olive oil) and some casserole type... More

Went there with our family. We had a 3 course dinner for a very reasonable price. The place looks really nice as you sit in fact on the fully covered terrace on the first floor. Furniture is authentic in old style, but well maintained. The food is real egyptian and tastes wonderfull. All is fresh made. I especially recommend the... More

We came here for a dinner, suggested by the tour agency we travelled with. Even there were only tourists besides us, we had a truly great time here. This place had a great charm, beautiful design, a calm and relaxed atmosphere, great food and kind service. We had some authentic egyiption food, that was delicious. The restaurant is hidden in...
