Here two separate comments, the first one for the meat, it is ok, not more as the meat is dry in most cases. For the other dishes it is excellent, very tasty and good cooking. I still recommend the place for one meal, any way for the meat eaters you will be lucky to find a good place in Aswan.... More

Any time you feel frustrated to find a place to have lunch or dinner El Masry is always a good option for u with a good budget. You can have a good meal (rice, vegetables, tahini, meat, bread) all for like 70 pounds. They don't offer a lot of options but what they offer is enough and good.

We have been in Egypt for 7 days now and this restaurant has the best food. Certainly the best tahini we have ever eaten, anywhere! The smoky smoothness is delicious! All mains come with a selection of mezze and a great lentil soup which makes it great value and takes the problem out of what or how much to order.... More

Food was very basic & average if not slightly below... The restaurant is not very well maintained but the waiter was very nice & friendly.

Popular with locals and tourists alike, this restaurant is near the local souk. The location on Google Maps is accurate. They have a English menu, with only a small “tourist-price” premium as far as I could make out. The most popular orders are “platters”, consisting of a wide choice of mains, along with bread, rice, beans, tomato-cucumber salad, and dip.... More

The food in Egypt is generally bad, this was my best experience from a week in Egypt. Lots of delicious tomato sauce based pots came to be shared on the table with the main course. The two people who had tarb were not feeling good the next day. I would recommend this restaurant for groups, maybe not for singles or... More

The place was excellent. They treated us like family. Great tarb! Will do it again and again. There is a coziness to the place and everything tasted good. The soup was hot the bread was warm and since I have been in egypt for a week now that isn't the norm. So finding this place was a God send.

This place is great. It's very much a local restaurant, which is nice because people actually go there. It's not just relying on the dwindling tourist market to stay open. The service is friendly and efficient. We ordered two 'vegetarian meals' (30 LE each) not really knowing what we would get, and we were so pleasantly surprised! The lentil and... More

After a hard slog thru the Souq in nearly 40degrees we had the good fortune to stumble into El Masry for lunch. Place was really clean- good bathroom facilities. Small menu if local Egyptian dishes at VERY reasonable prices. Eg. Half grilled chicken soup rice tahini salad bread and vegetables was 50 EGP. Was the best chicken we've had in... More

A nice place to eat, all plates come with 2 salads, soup, rice, bread and a side dish like molokhia. Prices little bit high but good, the place is clean with a good variety of grilled food.

We found this restaurant in the lonely planet Egypt book and it would be a shame for people to miss out on it, because it isn't listed on tripadvisor.
