If you like trying local cuisine, Zooba is an excellent choice. They offer Egyptian breakfast staples including "foul" which is basically fava beans and "Falafel" which is also made of ground fava beans and eggs. You can go for either plates or sandwiches. For lunch, I highly recommend their "hawawshi" which consists of ground meat in a round bread which... More

Good Egyptian street food, especially the kooshary, but since it's in Zamelek, has indoor seating and some upscale food offerings, you pay more than you would from street vendors (but it's still not an expensive place to eat). The seating is based on a communal eating concept where you are encouraged to interact with those around you, this is easiest... More

It was my first day back in Egypt after a 10 year absence. My family took me to Zooba's since we had time in the morning. The food was amazing by all standards, the foul, falafel, eggs and cheese all tasted great! The bread was fresh and delicious. The staff was very nice as well. My mom who knows everything... More

This place is realy nice, although small - in the Zamalik neighborhood. Be prepared to share a table but the food is worth it. The prices are really reasonable, the kofta is so delicious and so is the citrus lemonade ... and don't get me started with the Konboula, the best dessert tasted during my stay in Egypt.

Here at Zooba, we turn familiar Egyptian street food on its head (and dress it up a little, too). We use only the freshest local produce to create simple, flavorful, gourmet dishes. We don't just use locally-sourced products in our food; we also reclaim local materials and found objects to create an eclectic dining space that pays homage to the creative
resourcefulness and colorful spirit of the Egyptian people.
