We ordered the small (29000 won) version of steamed pork none. Received food for 3 - 4 people. Very good taste, lot of locals and locals still enter later in the day.

Good restaurant with friendly staff, quick and tasty food, and very affordable. The pork and potato soup is the main dish, but the tofu soup was very good too. You can leave the restaurant full and happy and head on to shopping in myeongdong

This shop is located in Myeongdong; an easy 100m stroll along shopping outlets from Nine Tree Hotel. Usually packed for dinner, this comfort food is best enjoyed during the cold nights of winter! In any case, I am sure the dishes are tasty enough throughout the season. The favorite here are the Stewed Pork Bones and Pork Bones Potato Soup;... More

Walked into this restaurant not knowing much of what to expect. There were no regrets though. It's a typical local restaurant where there seems to be more locals than tourists. So we stood out literally but that's fine with us. We ordered too much for two, starting with pork and potato stew (a huge pot enough for 3 or 4),... More

Ate here this night with a colleague, just for a quick bite in contrast to the usual long and heavy business dinners. Was a good experience, also from the aspect that a cpuple of restaurants turned us away after 9 p.m. die to closing time. i think this place is open 24h. Food was good, quick service and we were... We found this restaurant along the shopping area in Myeongdong. It's the road on the way to Namdaemun Market. It's just 5 minutes walk from Shinsegae. As you walk towards Myeongdong from Shinsegae you should be able to see this shop. It's one of the OK ones around Myeongdong. Most restaurants in Myeongdong shopping is basically tourist trap, so we... More

Came in the early evening to have a nice hot meal before getting on with a night of shopping in bustling Myeongdong. After looking at several nice restaurants we found this one and remembered we'd seen something about it on TV. The Kimchi soup was pretty good and the porkbone stew was a good choice, but the restaurant itself was... More

Homely dishes in a homely atmosphere. Gamjatang is a must and follow that up with the bbq pork belly. All washed down with lots of soju. A very good meal I've tried to replicate at home only causing me to miss Onedang even more.

Very close to the Chinese embassy in Seoul, this restaurant serve one of the best Gamjatang (pork bone soup) in town. However if your are a foreigner us us, likewise few other families before us the store seems to try to rip u off the change. (I hope this were just the coincidence and they are not doing it in... We did not plan to go but just being attracted by the local people inside which we believe it is a 'safeguard' when there is lots of local people there. The food variety is limited however all of them are very delirious and at a very good price! We love the 'pig bone soup' most! will come again.

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
