Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really good Thai food that also has a selection of wine. The service was excellent and the staff friendly. Many options including all the Thai favourites. Quite inexpensive with most meals around $7 AUD

Very popular Thai restaurant with locals and tourists. Authentic Thai herbs and good cooking style. Easily one of the best in Yangon. Prices are reasonable too. If you crave for Thai cuisine after several days of Myanmar meals you will be very satisfied. Go enjoy...yourself. We tried the tom yam soup, river prawns with glass noodles, green beef curry, red chicken curry and spicy papaya salad. Thoroughly enjoyable. A must try placeMore

I have reviewed Thai 47 before. I go every time I am in Yangon. But I must say that it seems to be getting better all the time. In my opinion, Thai 47 now serves the best bed in Yangon, perhaps in all Myanmar. And,...I’m quite sure it can’t be beat anywhere in SE Asia. I brought a large team from the US, and after several other restaurants, I took them to Thai 47. They remarked, “You have been holding out on us, leaving the best for last.” Perhaps! It’s just right, no matter what you order.More

A rare gem in Yangon, easily visible along Anawrahta Road. Tables are always clean and neat. Decoration, furnishing, interior design are decent. Management did a good job to maintain the food standard despite increasing the price. Alot of restaurants' quality dropped after increasing their price...so i am really thankful. I had tried about 70% of their menu, beside the pineapple fried rice and mango sticky rice, the rest of the menu is decent. Mango sticky rice is much better if you order during the day rather than at night. This is a Thai restaurant so almost everything has chilli. Request for less spicy or totally no chilli if you don like spicy food. Service quality is not bad. Parking is available in 46th Street, 48th Street and along Anawrahta Road.More

Air-conditioned 2-story Thai restaurant with tasty dishes. Serves up Thai iced tea, fresh fruit juices, and wines. Had the stir fried mixed vegetables with chicken (5000 Ks) and a watermelon juice (2700 Ks). Restaurant adds tax and a service fee.

We waited a long time to be seated then even longer to be served. The chicken wings were the best in my opinion. The rest of the food your typical Thai food found elsewhere in Yangon, but a bit overpriced. But the restaurant has nice...decor.More

My boat noddle soup is taken 25 mins to come and find out that fishballs are served cold (its like they are pre-boiled before the order and needed to be warmed up). The soup is just warm too. The rest, the noddle, liver slice and...meat slice are ok. The taste is average.More

Visiting Yangon at least twice a year, it’s become a tradition to invite for lunch my old , but very faithful travel agent Sun Bird Tours staff for a meal at the Thai 47. We are always around twelve persons. So the selection of food...ordered is very varied and appitizing. Always enjoyed the food the very dedicated service and the company. The restaurant is highly recommendable. And worthwhile a visit. Thanks and warm regards, Randolph PereraMore

Our initial visit to Yangon saw us attend this restaurant for our first night's dinner. The food was very good, the service excellent and the overall experience very good. We found the prices for both our food and drink to be very competitive and, most...certainly, very competitive versus many restaurants we've visited in both Australia and Overseas.More

Our group ate here twice and it was average. Having eaten in Thailand for years, this place can’t really compete but it tried its best. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. I had stuffed squid the first time and I don’t recommend...- very dry and over-cooked. However, the prawn spring rolls were very good. The second time we ate there I had a dish similar to pad Thai but with glass noodles and prawns. That was very good!More

I used to eat here several times during 2017 and remembered that they had nice and quite authentic Thai food. However, I don't know what has happened to this restaurant.I had a meal here again in Dec2018 and ALL dishes tasted... weird. Not the taste...they were supposed to be, e.g.Larb was bland and had strange smell, tomyum soup lacked sour flavour. Not sure if they still have Thai chef in the house or not. But surely this is not the place I will drop by for my next visit to yangon.More

The food was excellent, but I was more impressed by the staff. They are great, very professional. Very young, friendly, polite. They are watching you from far away (so they don't stay right behind you to stress you with their presence), but in every moment...when we needed something they were coming to us, ready to help. Actually, we didn't even need to tell them to come to our table, because they knew it already somehow. They are very well trained. Special thanks to Shwe Zin Aung, she was serving un incredible good and professional!!! :)More

We walked here, a 10 minute walk from our hotel. We arrived and they were ready to serve us. I felt a sense of urgency. Finally, we placed our order. I ordered a vegetable dish. When it arrived, I took a bite and tasted pork....They cooked the dang dish in pork even though there was no meat on the plate. I did not want to cause a scene so I quietly told our guide which in turn talked to them. The Manager denied there was anything in there. Again, I did not want to cause a scene. I just told them I was not hungry and cancel the order. The Manager insisted it will not take long to replace. So they gave me another plate of the same dish and told me they “microwaved” it. By this time, I was truly not hungry. But the lesson to this is that, you must disclose all your ingredients. Many people have died putting something in their system and they have allergy to the food. Cooking something with meat is the same thing. They were very pricey.More
