Lovely place. Had a good meal over there with my wife. Noticed there are more foreigners than locals dine at Rangoon Tea House. They served plenty of local cuisine. You probably can find all the typical local Burmese food over here. The price is comparatively...More

Oh man, I am still thinking of their potato samosa! That alone is worth the visit! And of course the tea. Loved the chart of teas from sweet to black tea, so that you can pick out the one specific to your tastes. The environment...More

We visited Rangoon Tea House twice during our stay in Myanmar - once for lunch and dessert, and then again for dinner a couple of weeks later. Downstairs is the bright and airy tea house, while upstairs has a darker, cosier feel, with low, intricately...More

I've been to Yangon just for a couple nights and we ended coming twice to this restaurant/bar. And I totally recommend. The first time we came for some drinks. And I gotta say that we're really happy with our cocktails: good flavour and presentation. I...More

The coffee and tea were decent and quelled our inherent tourist needs for a cuppa espresso. Our favourite was the carrot cake which was prettily plated and tasted fresh. I cannot comment much about the main menu as we visited during tea-time. Apart from local...More

A colleague advised me to go to the Rangoon Tea House and we were everything but disappointed. On day 1 we just ordered two watermelon coconut juices and a starter (spiced pepper squid) but on the second day we decided to go for cocktails (the...More

Great place to enjoy Burmese cuisine in a hip happening place. The restaurant caters mostly to tourists I believe but that doesn’t make it any less worth visiting.

A bit of a tourist trap as everyone in there was a tourist. The food is decent not amazing, desserts were yummy though and the drinks are good. You’re really here for the atmosphere and cleanliness. Very much a hipster vibe here, I’d say better...More

I’ve been to Yangon a number of times and this was the first opportunity I got to visit this place. The decor is great, the service is good and the snacks are tasty. It’s worth visiting.

Doubt they would. Rangoon is new to ATM's prepaid food vouchers would be a ways off I'd suggest getting in contact with Mark at the Strand and seeing if you can prepay drinks & nibbles st the bar there instead.

Rangoon Tea House is a modern recreation of an old, colonial-era restaurant set in the heart of downtown Yangon. The cuisine is inspired from that of local tea shops, whose traditions stretch back to when Burma was a part of British India when Rangoon was the second largest migration port in the world. That translates to the menu where you can find Mohinga, biryani, and chocolate samosas! The mezzanine of Rangoon Tea House is The Toddy Bar, a modern Burmese cocktail bar with cocktails designed by award-winning and internationally renowned mixologist, Hideyuki Saito.
