Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Shwe Sa Bwe was a fantastic fine dining experience. The service was excellent, the food was innovative and delicious, and the restaurant visually was awesome. Extremely good value for money. Would recommend it to anyone and I will definitely be returning!

Came here for an anniversary dinner and while we had a good time overall, the food was not really up to the standard I had expected after reading other reviews. We ordered lobster tempura, flammkuchen, and Vitelli tonato to start. The flammkuchen was quite nice...and tasty but fairly dry. The Vitelli tonato was exceptional; the best dish we ordered over the course of the evening. Only suggestion would be that the chef doesn't totally smother the beef in sauce, but it was still fantastic. The lobster tempura was absolutely terrible in terms of taste and value. At 38,000 we were delivered what seemed to be a baby lobster tail, so heavily coated in breadcrumbs (and not tempura batter) you could barely find or taste the lobster. The only flavour in this dish came from the salad and that wasn't really very nice either. Definitely avoid this dish - at 38,000 its an absolute disgrace. For main courses we ordered beef filet mignon and pork sisig. The beef was very well cooked and the accompanying side dishes nice. I really enjoyed the dish. The pork sisig was inedible due to being too chewy. The dish is supposed to be simmered until tender before being grilled and is naturally somewhat chewy given the ingredients, but this was simply inedible. We took it home for the dog to enjoy. The Dessert were quite nice although the tiramisu was frozen inside. They tested good however. Cocktails were also enjoyable though there is a limited selection. On arrival, the lady who greeted us was not very welcoming or friendly but the dinner service was really good, the service staff are attentive and alert.More

We received a lovely welcome from the staff and enjoyed the relaxing ambiance of the garden for dinner and drinks. There is a very reasonably priced table d'hote menu with two or three course options, as well as an a la carte menu with a...very good selection of dishes also very reasonably priced. The restaurant also has a nice wine/drinks menu. The service was excellent throughout the evening and the food was delicious. Highly recommended.More

I went there with my husband to celebrate our anniversary after reading all the good reviews. The food is excellent, like every item is delicious. The servers are friendly (and cute I would say because this young man was constantly trying to communicate us in...English for his betterment). Ended our meal with a tour in the restaurant. Definitely a must try in Yangon.More

After hearing many great comments about Shwe Sa Bwe, I headed there for a celebration, and it exceeded my expectations. Upon greeting us, the Restaurant Manager offered to take us around for a quick tour, including the kitchen - which was impeccably clean. I also...admired how much thoughts they have put into the decor and color scheme. Wine selection and the menu were amazing, we enjoyed every dish.More

For those of you looking for a fabulous reception venue or just a fine dining experience in Yangon you must make the trip to SHWE SA BWE. The Restaurant serves as a training center for young people in Myanmar looking for a career in the...culinary field, but you would never know. We hosted a wedding reception for our son and new daughter on January 18, 2020 and our expectations were exceeded in every aspect. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly, welcoming smiles and were escorted into the garden for cocktails and canapes and could have spent the entire evening outside simply taking in the delicious tidbits. With the announcement for dinner, we all went into the cozy, inviting dining areas where again, the attention to detail was obvious. The tables were beautifully set, the surrounding décor peaceful and the staff well trained to make everyone feel comfortable without being intrusive. The food is just what you would expect from an upscale restaurant in New York, Paris or Shanghai. Again, the attention to detail is noticeable in preparation and presentation. We started off with scallops with a pumpkin ginger mousse and for dinner opted for the pan seared duck breast which came out perfectly prepared. A dessert of milk chocolate cake and an espresso topped off a truly wonderful evening and event. As an extra special treat, just prior to leaving, our guests were treated to freshly made cream puffs and macaroons. Quite a nice departing touch. We highly recommend that anyone visiting or living in Myanmar, looking for a restaurant to host a special event or simply go out for an intimate dining experience, make it a point to spend a memorable evening with Davy and his wonderful staff.More

Designed to train young and sometimes disadvantaged people in high class restaurant and culinary skills and give them a meaningful career, Shwe Sa Bwe achieves both aims admirably. The manager was obviously passionate and deservedly proud of his students and their achievements and took my...wife and myself into the kitchens to see them at work. Equipment, cleanliness and ingredients to match the best; the students had obviously been trained very well. Serving staff were discrete yet quick to respond to requests or to remove used crockery. The only downside was their lack of English; to this end the manager was always on had to assist without embarrassing them. Food was excellent from a reasonably narrow menu designed to showcase their skills. Make it a definite whilst in Yangon, you will not be disappointed.More

Very nice bungalow location and terrace. The ethos behind the restaurant is to offer training in restaurant management the and culinary arts to underprivileged students. This, they excel in. The staff are eager to help and perfectly trained in fine dinning etiquette. Discreet but attentive...service with mentors available to help the trainees should it be necessary. The manager is also very charming and offers tours behind the scenes should you wish. The food was in most cases, excellent. Amuse bouche appearing in the intermissions between courses. My shellfish bisque was fabulous as were the duck breast, steak and deserts. Very passable local Red wine from Myanmar as well as a comprehensive wine list from other parts of the world.More

It was worth to explore the fine restaurant tucked amongst some bungalow. Itself was an immense bungalow. Opt for the air conditioning seating inside as it was quite hot and humid for the outdoor seating. Quite bright white and gold theme. There's an odour hanging...strong which dropped a star. I don't want say it as not to take away the other plusses, you know what it smells like. Waiting staff tries very much though English a bit challenging, but hey it's a training school and they can speak way more English than I Burmese. I opted for the dinner set. Really enjoyed the grilled Tiger Prawns entrée, the Roasted Tenderloin was perfect medium doneness, and topped it off a white and dark chocolate mousse with orange Cointreau sauce.
