About
Here we celebrate life’s simple pleasures – coffee, cocktails and an open kitchen with the freshest local and regional ingredients. Sofaer & Co’s space preserved most of the original features of the building – including the encaustic Victorian-era tiles from Manchester, steel beams from Lancashire and wood panels from possibly the era of the Vienna Cafe and Burma Book Club.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was super impressed with the food at Sofaer & Co, really tasty. Having a Western palette, the tastes were subtle and just what we wanted after 10 days of spicy food in Myanmar. Our dessert just melted in the mouth too! The decor and ambience was chilled, quirky and relaxed. They had a happy hour on some beers and cocktails from 5-8pm. We were the only people there so there service was excellent - I think it was a national holiday and we turned up early so I think that's why it was quiet. I would recommend this place!

Overall, Sofaer has great items on the menu. The staff is attentive and most of the time, semi Latin music is played. What I keep coming back for especially, are their desserts. If you have a sweet tooth, go here, you will be satisfied!

We dined here last night and were impressed by both the food and the service. Dinner consisted of spring rolls, soft shelled crab and squid. All cooked perfectly. The service was attentive and helpful. Well priced

We went there for lunch. Love the decoration. Foods are great! It combines Local dishes, Asians and Westerns. So you have many choices. Service is nice too. Keep up the good work guys. However, the email didn’t work. We tried to contact via email because we live overseas, it failed to deliver and bounced back. Appreciate if you guys could check.... thank you. Hope to come back next time.

Great setting, excellent service. We popped in for a few cocktails and a snack, we had the spring rolls and the fish crackers and both were delicious. The interior design was really lovely, the staff very friendly, spoke excellent English and couldn’t have been more helpful. Great range of cocktails too.

After long day, My friends and I decided to go Safaer & co for refreshment. We had summer rolls and mango salad and coffees. The peanut sauce for summer rolls was superb.

The place is very good to chill alone or even to date. It is located in downtown and in a colonial period building. Very good place to spend time alone with an ice coffee as it's not crowded usually.

We did not plan eat here, however the restaurant we hoped to eat at was closed. The range of food offered was limited, however it’s quality was excellent. We had spring rolls (called samosa in Australia!) and scotch egg for entree and turmeric coated chicken for desert. All were fresh and perfectly cooked. The staff were professional and spoke excellent English. The prices were a little high - higher than the price of food at our hotel (Pullman), however the food was so much better, so I was happy to pay (and hopefully return in a few days). It is clearly the best restaurant in downtown Yangon that we have been to.

Average chicken katsu burger (not enough Katsu flavour) and not many chips... On the other hand - absolutely incredible pork vermicelli noodle salad!!! We had the lotus crisps to snack on but the chilli garlic dip didn’t really taste of much... Personally, we thought the meal was decent but still slightly overpriced. There is tax on top plus an 8.5% service charge which is the first we have seen and have been in Myanmar 3 weeks...

Came for lunch with my fiend and this restaurant definitely is the most preferred restaurant when I come back to this city in future. The server was friendly and experienced. Mango salad main taste is slightly sour and it mixed perfectly with fried chicken. Pork meat was juicy & tender even i required to do medium well done. Sauce was the combination with a little bit sugar and might be fish sauce make it difference. All of foodstuff was fresh. Sticky rice totally matched with the meat. I order one sea food Tom Yum but too busy on enjoying the food to took any photo. Best choice for any travelers want to try Asia food and have a fully dish with local food.

Came here for dinner on Saturday night and it was rather quiet. The place was uniquely decorated with nice ambience. The food was a mixture of Vietnamese, Thai, Burmese, and Western. Had the Pork Burger Curry with Green Mango and it was tasty although they ran out of buns. The service was excellent as well. Overall it was a satisfactory experience.
