About
A great place to hang out for the day. The Beach Bar is famous for its wood fire pizzas, but offers a large choice of alternatives as well. Family friendly. The kids just love playing on the beach while Mum & Dad relax in the beer garden. Sit back and enjoy the stunning sunsets over Mele Bay whilst enjoying a cold beer or glass of wine. Keep an eye out for the special "Friday Night Fire Show" evenings, Tuesday Movie nights on Port Vila's biggest screen, right on the beach and our Sunday Sessions starting with live music from 1pm followed by our great new show "Sunday Sunset Circus" with our talented Fireshow performers. Something for everyone at The Beach Bar!

Spent sunset and early evening here in order to watch some of the local fire performers. It was packed and seating was hard to find, and lines for ordering food were quite long so it's worth getting there early. The food was delicious and they were able to adjust our order for dietary requirements. The fire show was amazing and I highly recommend watching it. There were also gorgeous views of Hideaway Island before the sun completely set.

We were recommended to head to the Beach Bar by fellow travelers on a Friday night, and were so glad we listened! On a Friday night they have an amazing fire show, which is totally worth a visit to watch. The beach bar offers great simple, reasonably priced food (think pizzas, burgers, chips etc), and a pumping atmosphere. They only accepted cash on the night, so make sure you come prepared, plus the performers ask for a cash donation at the end. There is also a circus show at the bar on a Sunday. If it’s anything like Fridays, it’d be well worth a visit.

Top spot, particularly on a Friday evening for the spectacular Fire show on the beach. The Sunday sunset Circus show was also reasonably entertaining but unfortunately the food isn’t really worth going back for. The pizza was ok but my hubby’s steak sandwich wasn’t good nor was my fish burger unfortunately. And we’d had some excellent fish and steak at our small resort restaurant a couple of days prior so we know quality cooking can be done, just a 10 minute drive away. Apparently some skilled staff were lost to Australia and NZ during Covid lockout so perhaps that’s the problem at the Beach Bar. Top spot for sunsets, pumping music, happy hour and the Friday Fire Show.

The first time I went was on a Friday evening for the Fire Dance. The place was heaving with lots of tour groups and tourists. Easy to get served but impossible to get a seat. The fire event was ok but not amazing. There were a couple of bits that were clever and talented but otherwise it mainly consisted of twirling fire sticks around and around. The second time I went was on a Saturday during the day and it was beautiful. Children were playing on kayaks and bodyboards, lots of laughter - and an ice cold G&T for me by the water’s edge! The bus journey back to Vila was very different on both occasions too. After Friday’s fire dance, I got on the packed bus and agreed it would be 500 vatu. When he dropped me off on the main road in Vila I was the last one and he said it was 1000vatu. I argued but he was unpleasant so I paid up. This was the only dishonest driver I had come across on either Efate or Santo. Saturday’s bus journey was 300vatu, with lovely driver.

We visited on a Friday night for dinner and the fire show. We had tried booking a few days earlier but they said they were booked out and we should try showing up by 5pm to try to get a table. Arriving at 5pm, we couldn't get a table so had to sit on the benches set up on the beach to watch the fire show. Eating while just sitting on a bench (no table) limited what we could order and we stuck to pizza. The pizza was OK but nothing special. It took a fairly long time for us to get our pizza and we heard other people that ordered after us saying that they had waited for more than an hour for their pizza. It even took ages for us to get our drinks once we had ordered them. The fireshow was absolutely amazing and it was definitely worth making the trip to see. The fireshow is advertised to start at 7pm but it didn't start until 7.30pm (which was quite annoying given how uncomfortable it was sitting on the uncomfortable bench seats and it so busy that people kept trying to take our seats if we stood up for a bit). The bar is a bit of a trek to get to from Port Vila. We organised a local driver to drop us off and pick us up for VT2,500 each way for 6 people (given the chaos in the car park after the fireshow, I'm glad we organised ahead and didn't just try to find a driver at the time).

We were advised to book the Beach Bar in advanced for Friday nights Fire Show, and be seated by 5.30pm. We took their advice and it was great. We ordered food as soon as we arrived, and by the time we ordered it was packed and busy and the line for food was very long. Worth it! Pizza and drinks were great, and a great selection. We were advised to eat first and be done eating before the Fire Show starts (approx 7.30pm). Great idea, as if we stayed in our restaurant seats we would not be able to see the show. I assume you can turn up for the show only (free, but donation bucket comes around at the end), but it's great to support the restaurant too. Fire show was a hit for adults and kids. Very entertaining, a great vibe! We came out for lunch another day, food and drinks also great - then headed to Hideaway Island for a snorkel.

Great location with good food, music, shows including the fire show, circus, Sunday afternoon music all very nice. Staff great, manager Caz very helpful. We had drinks and meals here a number of times. The chicken coconut curry is really yummy - don't miss it.

Another fun way to spend an evening in Efate ESPECIALLY if you have small children. The Sunday show or ‘a circus of magic, clowns and acrobats’ as it was described to us is perfect for children probably 10 and under. It is preformed a little in English and the clowns are all in Bislama but it isn’t hard to follow. You can tell that the locals have really devoted time and energy into delivering an evening of laughs for your little ones. The acrobat has equally put in a lot of time and effort to teach himself the craft. The bar itself is a super place with great wood-fired pizza, and a gorgeous view. It’s also a great place to swim. Come for an afternoon of swimming and fun and stay for dinner and drinks. Also if you have young’uns, you might want to stay for the circus too.

Over crowded, terrible service. The food was not good to eat and everyone in our group that had anything other than pizza got sick. I took 2 weeks to recover from eating here. The fire show is ok but don’t eat here.

Great entertainment, we went for the Friday evening fireshow. had to get there before 5pm for a 7pm show, which actually started at 7:30 (due to how busy it was on the night getting food out) but the show didn't disappoint. Kid's weren't board waiting around as they played on the beach. Food/drink prices were probably a little more than others but fair enough for the show. Location is out of town, cost us 500VT per person each way, we had a group so was no issue getting a bus driver to take us there and pick us up when it was finished (around 8:45pm). Well worth the night out.

We booked a table for the Friday night Fire Dancers show and came to the Beach Bar 90 minutes before the scheduled show time. I have to say the service was very slow for cocktails - which I imagine is to be expected with the popularity of the free Fire Dancers show. And then their blender broke and we were advised that it would take up to 20 minutes for a new one to arrive. We ordered sweet potato wedges and chips, which came out quite quickly. We ordered pizzas and a vegetarian burger and again, I need to say that the service was slow and unfortunately, the quality of the food, when it arrived, was average at best. We put this down to how busy the venue was - but on reflection, you know that the night is going to be busy, so you take this into account, right? I cannot recommend any of the food. But, ultimately we were there to see the show - and what a show it was!!! For me, the food and cocktails get 2 stars, but the show and location get 4 stars.

Don’t miss it! The Fire Show was spectacular and it’s FREE. I would suggest making advance reservations, as it ends up being standing room only for the show. My wife and I sat in the chairs near the beach, very comfortable and the small wall provides a place to put your food/drink. The prices are very reasonable…the beer is cold and the food is very good. Please note they only accept cash (Vatu) so bring it with you. The owner did very graciously offer rides to the nearby ATM for those that didn’t bring cash. The entertainment group, “Vanua Fire”, are very very good and provided a very exciting and well-choreographed show!

We were told about this place by a local to come on Friday night to see the fire show. We booked by sending an email which they responded to quickly and confirmed our table booking. We were told to arrive early so we got there by 5pm and ate early, but the show doesn’t start until 7pm. So I’d recommend getting there around 6pm. The food was tasty, drinks cold and lovely and atmosphere great. The show was awesome! It is free but you are asked for a donation which we gladly gave.

This is a great spot anyway, but the chaismatic and entrpreneurial owners provife free shows which attracyt large numbers of visitors. The best known is the fire shownon Fridays. This about 45 mins of suprbly choreographed firestick dancing and acrobatics. Food is very reasonably priced and our pizza was delicious, drinks also good value.

Long way from where we staying (a journey from Port Vila). Hard to get a bus, had to pay extra 🤬 Maybe there at the wrong time, 15:00 on a Thursday, not much happening, stayed for a few drinks and left, only to be greeted by a local holding a large carving knife, asking us where we were going? 😡 After having to haggle with the bus driver, we just paid overs to get out of there 🥴 Seemed like a decent enough place, the area/adult locals once we left gave a different vibe 🤬 Personally, not worth the effort 👎
