Our dining experience at Kai Ika Restaurant in Niue was absolutely delightful! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome with their helpful and attentive service. They even took the time to ask about the music level to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying our meal.
The food was incredible—the local fish was fresh and delicious. We also had locally made beer with our meal, and it’s great that the restaurant offers this option. It added a special touch to the whole experience.
If you're in Niue and looking for a great place to eat, we highly recommend Kai Ika Restaurant. The combination of excellent food, friendly service, and a thoughtful dining atmosphere made for a memorable evening!

Pizza and Japanese cuisine seems like an eclectic combination, but Kai Ika carries it off with ease. We had the banquet-style meal, I think it was called the King’s Feast. Everything was outstanding and generously portioned, highlights for me were the Ahi salad and the tempura sushi. Local craft beers and cider were available to drink, and the mango and raspberry cider was delicious. Prompt and efficient service, didn’t try the pizza but it was very popular with most tables ordering a mix of seafood and pizza. Highly recommended!

Terrific tuna sushi and sushimi. The best in the South Pacific. Honestly I kid you not. I guess it helps to have the freshest tuna on your doorstep, but these guys really know what to make it into. Japanese inspired and trained S and I started with a chef Ina special, and then she had the tempura fish and vegetables and I had the chefs selection for the second time in 3 days. OMG have they got it right.

I was looking forward to eating here, great recommendations and a great experience several years ago.
We booked early as we had a large group (10). We headed up the back for a brewery tasting but 2 of our group went down at 6:30 to order their meals. The rest of us were ~10mins later. We were the second table to be seated.
All orders were taken promptly. 1 diner got their meal in a reasonable time but he had finished before the next meal came out. Other tables were getting seated and finishing their meals before the remaining meals came out after 8pm. We would have left if there were other dining options available to us.

Grabbed a takeaway dinner from here - a fish and chip meal and a donburi bowl-type dish that came in mild and spicy flavouring. Had great expectations based on reviews, but was left disappointed. Barely noticed the difference between the two spice levels of the fish/rice/salad bowls and the fish and chip meal was pretty ordinary. Fulfilled the brief of dinner but wouldn't rush back based on this experience.

We visited twice it was so good. just loved the royal feast and had it both nights with some on site brewed ginger beer. Bookings very recommended - people were turned away who thought they could just turn up. Its popular for a good reason. Go with the royal feast.

This place is simply extraordinary with the best fish on the island. We have been coming to Niue since 2010 & Kai Ika has been a constant "must do" because of the quality of the food. If you love sashimi,it doesn't get better than this. Even better, Avi and his family are delightful hosts who make everyone feel welcome.

Fresh and delicious. We ordered both pizza and seafood and each dish was delicious. The Chirisaki bowl was the winner - hit rice, soy tuna and fresh salad veg. The kids loved the pizza. We also had sashimi and sushi and we couldn’t eat it all, generous portions. We eat in one night (take mosquito repellant) and had pick up another. Service was SO good. And look out for sweet Pirate the kitty. Highly recommended.

What a gem!
Freshest of Niue seafood with Japanese flair. Great atmosphere and service from Avi and family .
The pizza oven makes sure you can mix it up and cater for everyone during multiple visits .
Make it a definite visit .

Casual and fair enough but NY Pizza was very ordinary. OK pizza Base with bit of sauce and cheese with very very small amount of topping.
Would not get again. Sorry guys but it’s easy to do much better than that.

My husband had read reviews for this place and heard that it was meant to be some of the best Japanese food outside of japan! We were not disappointed that food was fantastic - we had four dishes between us and they were all great - we have been to japan and can confirm that the dishes were as good at Kai Ika as they were in Japan.
we had lunch so did not book. However it gets busy in the evenings so we recommend booking!

We went twice to this amazing restaurant. The first time we had excellent sushi. The second time we had the Niue Pizza -- fish, papaya and chilis. All were excellent. Plus, you can sample some of the beer from the only craft brewery on the island!

We went to Kai Ika about 4/5 times during our 2 week stay on Niue. Never had bad service or a bad meal! Would go back again and will on our next visit!
Everything was fresh and delicious. Avi was a great host and lots of fun.
