By far, the best burgers in the world. The ambience is great. Lots of Aussie humour and touches. I wish I had seen this on place before.

Ordered BLT (even though it wasn't on the menu anymore due to the pandemic) and espresso martini. Espresso martini was very good (note: it's cold, but still very good). BLT sandwich was good too, especially the salad. Only complaint I have about BLT is that...the bread was a little hard, but I have never eaten blt before so maybe that's how it's done? Also ordered Moscow Mule - very good cocktail with almost overwhelming ginger taste.More

Not the cheapest place in town, but the atmosphere is welcoming, the coffee (great flat white) is really well made, and the food is excellent too. They do a lovely daily special, serve up some good local beers and wine, and the music playlist just...adds to the chilled atmosphere. It was one of my favourite cafes in South America, and if you're lucky, Mark, the owner, may offer advice about descending the Death Road, or climbing a nearby mountain. Great spot, just a block from the Purple Teleferico line.More

We had a fabulous time at Higher Ground in La Paz. We ended up coming several times over a few days, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! We loved the vegetarian options - the veggie breakfasts & the pastas were a particular highlight. We also loved...the ambience of the cafe - very relaxing, social and cosy, with great music & really fabulous staff. Great coffee as well! Mark also helped us with tips of things to do in La Paz. Highly recommended!More

Higher Ground was our favourite place to visit for food and drinks in La Paz. We went almost every day to try the various options the menu offered. The food is fresh and delicious and the coffee was great (impossible to find in South America)....Mark the owner is incredibly professional and great to have a chat with. The whole team were always really friendly as well. Great place!More

Best food and coffee in La Paz. Went back 4 times in 3 days to try more things on the menu. Reasonably priced and very safe to eat anything (e.g. fresh salads and chicken). Run by an Australian and very friendly staff. Menu has huge...variety of food!More
