With a stunning location overlooking the harbor in Punta del Este we sat in the outdoor terrace just across the street from the main restaurant. From here we could see all the boats coming and going and the people moving along the strip of restaurants. The servers were attentive and plentiful. The food we loved very flavorsome and well presented. Slightly pricier than other places but then your paying for the view.

Great All Around

Spending the day in Punta and looking for a place to have lunch, drove in front of this place. The location is great, water front, so the views are awesome. It has indoor seating and also an outdoor patio right on the water. If the weather is nice, lunch in the patio is amazing. The indoor dining area is really nice, it's clean and modern, and you get an amazing water view. The service was really good. Our waiter (Marcelo) was great. Really attentive and made sure everything was great. The food was algo very good. Everything had great flavours. The menu has a lot of options, so there is something for everyone. It was just a great lunch, totally recommend this place.

Nice place but very expensive.

Guappo has a really nice vibe about it. Very busy with an indoors seating area and an outdoors section on the promenade with a magnificent view of the bay. Unfortunately, there was nobody who could communicate in English with us - this is a very touristy area and we had just come off a cruise ship. The menu is interesting, although i had to use Google Translate to figure out a lot of stuff. In our party we had some fresh fruit juice - orange and lemon. Both were freshly squeezed with the lemon juice being literally that. The chicken salad was tasty and interesting with chunks of fresh mozzarella in it. The gnocchi souffle was somewhat bland despite all the cheese in it and the rainbow salad is a typical salad with beetroot thrown in. Be aware that this place charges a cover charge of $190 per person as well as a tip. I was a bit upset - I had told the waitress to add a 10% tip - she took my credit card, which was returned by a different person and they had given themselves a 22% tip.

once a top P del E restuarant it has behaved so badly avoid avoid

we had eaten at start of january had nice meal few people in restaurant 2 weeks later on our last night had booked to be on thier top terrace they had a short menu and did not have 2 mains chosen by the 4 of us. If they didnt have the food which included Roquefort cheese why were such things on the menu? they were slow the main courses were not remarkable even adequate we went back for our last night to find on a short menu at least 2 mains were not possible due to lack of ingredients! the waiter only fund this out when we asked for them these were eventually served slowly one salmon dish was appalling dull tasteless etc we the waited for ages for deserts which neve came . in the end we walked out there was no apology. It became apparent on going down stairs they had full downstairs and seemed simply to be only attending to them I saw other upstairs clients sitting there waiting. so they had a short menu were slow did not have basic ingredients not enough waiters so this rendered the menu even shorter this used to be a restaurant of choice I cannot recommend them at all in spite of their original reputation

Terrible attention, the bald guy who treated us poorly, arrogant and poorly educated; instead of greeting and welcoming. He told us with great arrogance and arrogance, "Who let you sit here?" We then waited 35 minutes, a period in which we had not been attended to; For this reason we have decided to leave there, towards Isadora, 250 meters away from that garbage. Luckily excellent care. Advice: I would fire the "bald" who was not poorly served instantly.

The food quality is not nearly as good as it should be for that kind of price. You can get similar food in La Pasiva for half the price.

Passable but not what it was

This restaurant used to be our go-to place in Punta del Este for good food, great service, and splendid beachfront location. Menu has now changed considerably, our favorite mixed seafood "tabla" is gone, and the rest of the menu is only average. Service remains good but waiters are also frustrated by changes in popular items and no attention given to staff comments by management. I can only hope they wake up soon.

Pretty place with fine food and drink

Started with generous drinks and appetizers. Dinners included delicious fish dishes (brotola), gnocchi, and a lovely salad. Chocolate volcano for dessert was outstanding. Service was very good.

Great beachside outdoor dining

I've not eaten at the main restaurant but it looks very nice. We've taken advantage of the great location and fabulous food on the two occasions we've visited this great town. It's not cheap but the food is very good. Beware the portion sizes are large.

Best place by the harbour

If you are in the Peninsula area don’t miss Guappa. Request a terrace table and seat as close to the sea as you can. It has a beautiful view and very good food. The service is outstanding. Will definitely go back!

Good food, great location

Very Close to the center of the town. Located on the beach. We ate on the terrace overlooking the sea. Good service. A bit pricey. But the Terrace location compensates for the additional cost. We had the Lasagna de Berenjenas 8 and the grilled Brotula 6. The Clerico , a type of sangria with white wine, was excellent but we changed the house wine to an Alamos Chardonnay. Great for a hot summer day.
