I had a long 13 hours flight to Doha before transiting to forward destination. I had to go there at least 3 times before they would allow me to use the lounge citing long queue and my next flight time. I understand need to accommodate...other passengers who have flights before me but I also expected that they would consider length of light time I have had. At 3rd time, they gave me a voucher to go to Al Maha lounge to use at 2.30 am after 6 hours wait trying to relax and take a shower after a long flight. If course, only food left around that time some cheap tuna sandwich and some wine and lentil soup. It's very basic, meal was pretty basic and wifi was same as in the airport. There aren't many comfy chairs to relax, very crowded and long queue. Customer service was awful and they are unapologetic about my experince. I hope I never have to use this lounge again. This place is pretty much a garbage.More

The lounge is comfortable, food is okay, and the staff is friendly. The main problem is the fight for a working plug to charge your electronic devices….in that most of them are broken….and appear to have been broken for some time. After much searching, we...finally found a working plug, and had a travel adapter…thus were able to assist other desperately searching passengers with their charging needs. There is a shower in the bathroom, but demand far exceeds the supply, thus if you really want a shower, stand in front of the shower and wait, otherwise you probably won’t get one.More

I recently had the opportunity to visit the lounge during my transit through Doha airport. Reception : The reception staff were polite and courteous. I was able to get access through my priority pass. I was given access for 4 hrs and then again after...4 hrs i had to queque up for some 15 - 20 minutes and again was given access for another 4 hrs ( i.e i had to utilize 02 visits from the priority pass ). Seating : The lounge is having various options for sitting ( loungers , chairs and semi recliners ). There are separate zones for gaming , families , smokers and a quiet room. During my visit the quiet room with semi recliners was more or less occupied and i was not able to utilize the same. The chairs / loungers were comfortable. The lounge was reasonably quiet during my stay. Food : The available was a buffet. there was 01 veg pasta , 02 soups ( veg / non veg ) , various breads , preserves , various sweets ( arabic and continental ). The food was ok / average. Drinks : Tea / coffee , Fruit juice , beer , bottled water , soft drinks were available. Washroom : The washroom was clean and was being regularly / continuously being cleaned by the staff after every use. Shower : There is only 01 shower and there are no prior bookings for same. We have to queue up and due to this was unable to utilize the shower as i ran short of time. Cleanliness : The lounge was fairly clean and the staff were cleaning the various tables regularly. The cleaning was little lax in the dinning area and the staff had to be reminded o clean the table before occupying the same. Overall a ok experience and lounge is suitable for short stops during transit.More

Arrived at the lounge at 11:50pm queued up for 40mn before being allowed inside even though we were booked and had paid up days ago! Since our flight was boarding at 1:30am we basically enjoyed a super salty carrot soup and armchair for exactly 30mn....Moreover the staff at the counter was unapologetic meaning this queuing is not a isolated occurrence. When I asked to speak to the duty manager I was answered ironically. Simply a joke.More

This lounge as well as this airport and Qatar airways have exploited Covid pandemic situation for financial gain. Qatar airlines is selling tickets with bait and switch approach. They always sell tickets that look good with good transit times and they change them after you...buy and plan your trip. They are changing it to 13 hour, 20 hours and even 24 hours transit time at Hamad airport. Since it is now very difficult to get outside the airport, people are forced to use the airport facilities. The lounge is really exploiting this situation. The entrance to the lounge looks like a crowded nightclub. There is not enough space to even form a line without pushing other people. After you line up for an hour and finally get to the front desk, they tell you that your flight is more than 4 hours away. They are only admitting people within 4 hours of departure. What a joke! So you have to come back and line up again for another hour to get in within the 4 hour window. They could have announced the 4 hour rule before people are lining up but it seems like they enjoy sending people back and seem to happy that they are in high demand. Instead of expanding space and services, the lounge is shrinking and closing spaces for “Covid precautions “ making people pack up like sardines in the small hallway.More

Everything is awful about this lounge, the food, the decor, the people at the reception and especially the waiters. They ignore everyone, and keep having conversation between them in corners.

Just had a 4 hour layover in Doha to be told only paid bookings allowed in lounge. The service was shocking staff told me they didn’t care as I was not a paying customer. I had a valid visit on the lounge key access. This...is shocking. Customer service 0%.More

Though lounge key lists this lounge on their coverage, it appears that Oryx lounge did not want to allow eligible lounge key members. Both on our outward and inward journeys (10 days apart), we saw same scene in front of Oryx lounge - One lady...staff screaming that the lounge is full and available only for "paid members" and not for any card program members. Lot of passengers looked upset and helpless. Please stay away from this lounge.More

I have a Priority Pass and it was clear that they have something against Priority Pass holders. I understand that the airport is an extremely busy one, and by extension the lounge is also busy. However, they cannot refuse entry purely on the basis of...the fact that my next flight is much later. If I am a holder of a Priority Pass (for which I pay, and I am sure Priority Pass pays Oryx for my access of the lounge), whether I have a flight in a matter of a few hours, or a bit later cannot be reason to deny entry. More so when there is space inside the lounge. Weirdly enough, that logic goes down the drain when I again tried entering the lounge a couple of hours later, and the staff had changed. Food was also below par. I would much rather pay and get a more wholesome meal instead of eating the threadbare menu available in the lounge. I was just quite disappointed. For an airport that is so good otherwise, the lounge is not properly run. Be prepared for these random rejections if you happen to try accessing the lounge at a busy hour of the day.More
