Popped into upstairs downstairs the other evening after a long time away, one of the oldest restaurants in Bahrain, unfortunately prices became ridiculous and food had become dull. 😃 Was pleasantly surprised the food was amazing, the jazz singer and pianist blew our minds..prices were more affordable too. Why? New owners. Well good luck to them, we will be visiting... More

We wanted somewhere special to eat for our anniversary. I saw this restaurant online near to our hotel, and decided to come. The decor is excellent, couldn't fault the food. Added bonus, live music tonight starting at 8.30pm.

I love eating here. Its good honest food. You should try the Bahraini rice and the Hamoor Pate is a must! I don't really care for the lounge as its too loud for my taste. Overall a great old restaurant

This is a very good steak house. Nice for couples on a date or families. It has nice atmosphere, at least for Bahrain and the service is good..

New decoration, different setup than I expected. Music was loud although the energetic singer tried her best to create a nice atmosphere. Food is nice and service is great. We enjoyed our stay, I will try other places in the coming outings.

Upstairs Downstairs is a cool place to grab a drink and a bite to eat. It has atmosphere plus, if you're downstairs. While the place isn't enormous, there are different areas with different ambiance.... There's a small bar area with a couple bar booths and some bar tables. The ceiling is low and it feels almost warm and pub-like. The... More

Visited this uber cool restaurant past night. Beautifull experience. Very comfortable ambience and superb staff. Thanks to John who really surpassed himself. The wine was fine. The food exquisite. And the flambe flaming. Was a pleasure talking to George Cherian the GM, as we were leaving the place. He runs a fine ship indeed. For a relaxed and comfortable evening... More

Located in the heart of Bahrain, a terrific buzz hits you as you enter Upstairs Downstairs and make your way through the bar to the utterly charming two-floor restaurant. Decorated in traditional English Country House style, it’s like being at a private dinner party hosted by a friend and the ambiance is heightened further by local jazz musicians performing on stage. The international guest stars regularly take the stage. The menu is eye-catching international fajitas, fish cakes, interesting-sounding salads and such, all feature, with vegetarians well catered for. So come on over and experience something different today.
