We staid at Dr. Shakshuka for our lunch. The location of the terrasse between two buildings is nice and partly protected from the sun, for those who prefer. We ordered a shawarma with french fries/rice/vegetable salad and a vegetarian couscous. The shawarma came raw in the middle and had to be returned to the grill for some more minutes. Rice... More

Firstly it is worth going to Dr Shatshuka's for the experience; It's bustling, fun and a tiny bit crazy. Other reviews are correct; the food is good but not brilliant (although the pumpkin relish was wonderful) my lamb kebabs we nice but the mixed shawarma was a little dry. Yes there are lots of pigeons around but it's essentially outside... More

we went on a Saturday my friend said that the Doctor had a fascinating story that he was an ex mafia boss and had opened the restaurant and was also a go between for unresolved disputes between the various mafia members. Anyway he said that the best shakshuka was served at this establishment. We went as 2 couples for lunch,... More

We were very looking forward to have the so called "best shakshuka in town", but it wasn't! Food was ok, but not overwhelming, the service was very bad, atmosphere absolutely disappointing! Better go for Benedict etc., they are much better!

There's a reason they have a hawker outside trying to get you to go in: the food here is not what it was years ago. The food is decent, but a little greasy, and not what it could be. Dining in Tel Aviv is much improved these days, but Dr. Shakshuka is not keeping up.

I ate an average shakshuka in an overpriced restaurant. Being told in advance that I can pay by card, after I finished my meal, I found out that the POS "isn't working". That was rather annoying. Only after I told the waiter that either I pay by card, either I'll leave without paying... he took my card, charged it and... More

This place was packed on a Friday. Lots of outdoor seating. They had an English menu for us and we ordered a few items. The food arrived only a few minutes later. The food was good, nothing special, but fine. Bill for two with sodas was 126 ILS.

Doctor Shakshuka is a kosher restaurant serving North-African home-style cuisine, which has many fans. Most of the cooking is done in the family kitchen by the mother of the family. The restaurant caters to private events in a unique and authentic atmosphere. Doctor Shakshuka offers the best Turkish shawarma made of thin slices of lamb with minced lamb meat in between, skewered on one huge spit, in he's new shawarma place(same location).
