We ate here a few times during our stay. We got a falafel plate and some other things the first time but after seeing the other customer munching on a sandwich, we enquired with the staff as to what that was and got that instead. Their falafels are lovely and in a sandwich with chips, hummus and salad, they are... More

I visited this place 4 years ago and the food was amazing. So on returning to Jerusalem the first place I went to was Abu Shukri. It was 3.30pm and they were closing for the day and I was informed in a very abrupt manner of so. Thinking nothing of it I returned a few days later. BIG MISTAKE! As... More

There is no better place for hummus and middle eastern salads. I have been coming to Abu Shukri since 1979 and it is consistently the best there is -bar none. I make a pilgrimage to Abu Shukri every trip (which is often).

I took four people here for an experience of local food, although the food passed the price did not, we were not given a menu and when the bill arrived extra items were added, as I live in Israel the portions were small and the price big more than double elsewhere, ask for a menu confirm the price or you... Don't ask for a menu here, they don't have them. But no matter, the choices are simple: Arab-style hummus , falafel and local mixed salad. The food was delicious and the service friendly.

I am going there frequently with those who want to experience a REAL local restaurant in the Old City of Jerusalem. It is right on the Via Dolorosa so it fits most of the touring programs in the Old City.

This is my 7th trip leading folks to Israel. This is a must stop every time! Our group of 20 along with our guide Hani Salameh enjoyed an amazing feast of fresh pita, hummus, ful, falafel and salads. Right off the Via Dolorosa, its a great little rest stop.

Abu Shukri is good (not great in my opinion) hummus in the Old City. Authentic Middle Eastern atmosphere where the hummus is made to order. If you're from outside the Middle East, you may think this is the best hummus you have eaten, but if you look at other places in the Old City ( Lina or al Arafat) it... More
