As a student in Jerusalem, I love going out to 5th of May for a couple of reasons: 1) Good atmosphere and people 2) Delicious, fresh & original food 3) Good and diverse music. I sure did add a couple of songs from over there to my playlists :) 4) Good service The only problem - the beers are overpriced,... More

I adore my visits to this hole in a wall shook cafe and pub. The food is always fresh, the drinks spectacular and the music has great vibes. What keeps me coming back for more is the Cucumber Gin and Tonic and the baked sweet potato (which is also gluten free!)

I was sitting in May's 5th 2 days ago... Though Jerusalem felt a bit sad (due to the security situation), the bar was very alive and the atmosphere wasgreat!! I will defenitly come back to try more of the interesting dishes the place offers!

I went there with a couple of friends for drinks and snacks. It was mid week day, evening time. I had a few beers and ate the "Sabih" dish which was AWESOME! very healthy ingredients and rich taste. The price was reasonable for Israel. You should visit if your looking for a cool place to have drinks in a welcoming... More

The beer is fresh and the food is nice (but comes in small dishes) most of the dishes involve local ingrediants fright from next door.

This was the first bar to open in the renovated Machne Yehuda market. At the beginning it was awesome just to sit here and grab a drink or a small bite to eat but now the prices has gone up and the place lost a little bit of its charm. Nevertheless, it is still one of the best bars in... More

Stumbled upon May 5 on evening of June 14. Our table was a large panel with bar stools and a small light. Had the spicy olives, hot nuts, maple brie and a salmon appetizer. Our subsequent sandwiches were delicious. Server gave us shots and complimentary desserts. Music was electric swing with a Star Wars feel.

I've been to the 5th of May on each trip i make to jerusalem. The atmosphere is magical day or night. The food is extraordinary and the drinks are memorable. Sit at the bar and have a coffee followed by the specialty drinks. It is worth your while to experience the bustle of the market and then sit with the... More

A small bar packed with flavor. Everything we tried was delicious, drinks slightly on the pricey side and portions are modest but definitely worth it!!!

Being the first bar opened in The Mahaneh Yehuda Market, The 5th Of May was the spark that ignited the market's night life. This hometown pub atmosphere prides itself on its quality, fresh food supplied locally by its market neighbors. They serve beers to please your most classic tastebuds to the freshest brew on the market. If you're searching for something else, their playful cocktails always put a jump in your step. Alas, it truly is the ever alternating music destination that will make you open your Shazam application on repeat. Come on down to experience the original market scene.
