We arrived in Israel at 9pm at night, and by the time we got through immigration, got the car, and drove to Jerusalem it was at least 11pm. Fortunately Hummus Ben Sira stays open late. We had mushroom hummus, with large pieces of mushroom, meat hummus which had a delicious subtle flavor (maybe cinnamon) and chick pea hummus. Pita wasn't... More

I was extremely excited to visit after reading all the reviews on TripAdvisor. My guess is that we visited on a bad night...but it was really bad! First, it was unclear whether you should seat yourself and not a single employee made eye contact. After deciding to sit at the bar, we waited for 15+ minutes to get any sort... More

I managed to try this place after just arriving to Jerusalem on an overnight flight from the US. As this was my first visit, this was a great introduction to authentic hummus/falafel. The menu is simple, but expertly done. As this was before passover, I only wish I could have visited here a few more times and not tried other... More

A non-touristic very genuine place, which is almost always full with all ages. The crowd is full and satisfied with the great creamy hummus. However, the service is lousy and antagonizing. The waiter was a smarty-pants who acted like you can't ask for anything or talk out of turn. Nevertheless, and regardless the poor service, I'd recommend trying it.

The evening of our first night in Jerusalem, my daughter and I went to Ben Sira restaurant. Lots of Israellis...authentic and fresh and delicious food. The best Israeli salad, falafel, pita, pickles etc. The perfect start to a wonderful trip.

Delicious meal (we had the beef meat hummus & chickpea hummus), reasonably priced. Best pita. Will definitely be coming back.

Love this place! Best hummus. The chicken is super flavorful. Portions are huge. Cauliflower is great. A local place. Small. Not fancy at all. Great food. Locals and fun. A must try for a casual meal while in Jerusalem!!

We stopped here around 11am (before it got busy) and ordered the cauliflower and mushroom hummus plates. The hummus was out of this world and the falafel and veggies were delicious as well. The staff was super friendly-this was our first meal after getting off the plane! My only regret is I wish we had a bigger stomach!! A previous... More
