We tried the fish cooking with salt. It was very tasty and new thing to see also. Many sea food but they don't have mid-size shrimp to grill and have full board sea food table.

With so much fishing going on on the Galata bridge, fish seemed the most appropriate menu in the restaurant under the bridge. Our choice was not regretted.

We enjoyed an exceptional lunch at this indoor/outdoor restaurant under the Galata Bridge in beautiful Istanbul. This was a catered, group luncheon, so we did not see or order from a menu, but we ate VERY well. The meal started with several delicious mezze dishes, including spiced prawns, and other fish and veggie dishes, bread and yoghurt. As an entrée,... More

What is there to say!! Another gem amongst the fakes. Many of the bridge restaurants want your money, the Imperial wants to to enjoy the food and be happy. Compared to some of the restaurants in Eminonu, it is reasonably priced. They will let you have a beer or just a tea. Resist (Rashid) will look after you and remember... More

This restaurant is now known as "Imperial Galata" since the signage of all restaurants under the bridge was standardised. We went here because it was the only place not having touts outside trying to drag customers in, and also did not have the dreadful live Turkish music as so many other places have. Manager was friendly, if a little pushy... More

We were two adults with three kids, fifteen, twelve and six year. So we thought we will go see sunset on Galata bridge and have a nice meal. We asked the hotel reception for directions to get there and he told us they have a free shuttle there. That seemed convenient. It so happened that this restaurant had a pick... More

We have chosen the restaurant because it was Turkish wedding party inside. And because all other restaurants were too laud and too insisting in desire to get us inside. Lucky I have read all bad reviews afterwards, otherwise I would never choose it! Our experience was great, food was tasty, service was very good and the Bosporus view was just... More

This is a quiet restaurant located under a bridge. Like other contributors have stated, they too reduced the menu prices to get our group's business, there were 6 of us. Overall, not too bad, but nothing really worth mentioning. Wait staff were keen to serve us and we drank free tea after dinner. All up, just OK.

Staying in Karakoy

Neighbourhood Profile
Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most historically significant area, it’s currently one of the most happening parts of town as well. Here street vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks of the Horn where the views of major attractions across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions, such as the iconic 14th century Galata Tower and the Museum of Modern Art. A major hub for local and international waterborne traffic, Istanbul’s commercial and maritime heritage remains as relevant and evident as ever in Karakoy. Commuter ferries mingle with luxury cruise liners at its busy port, ensuring a continuously cosmopolitan flow of people..
