I ran into this place while i was wandering around the beautiful narrow roads down the Galata tower. At first the lovely decoration draw my attention to sit and have a coffee at this beautiful place, but ai fell in love with its cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. One of the staff, her name.is Defni, wes very helpful when I... More

I was staying just across the street and on my first night was out wandering around the neighborhood. The cafe was closed and I was just browsing the windows when the owner appears and unlocks the door inviting me in. Went back the next day for breakfast which was a hearty muesli yogurt and fresh fruit for about $7. The... More

We had breakfast here every morning of our stay in Istanbul! Our apartment was nearby and this place just caught our eye on the first morning. So welcoming and beautiful, a really nice atmosphere, especially to sit outside and watch Istanbulites try to navigate narrow steep driving. One morning people were shooting a commercial next to the cafe, quite a... More

We only went to this restaurant because it was affiliated with our hotel, but we were very glad! The owner (?) is super friendly, gives huge portions and has great music playing! Definitely recommend this place for anyone near Galata tower (it is 2 minutes walk from there) - don't go to the surrounding cafes!

We had dinner with a wonderful salmon sandwich and a grilled salmon served with mashed potatoes and spinach. Very nice place, it seems to be in Paris!

Have a tea and enjoy the interior design of the place. The desert is really good as well. We came back for breakfast which it was really good as well.

If only the sophistication of this place was anywhere near the staff's attitude! Interior, food, items for sale - all very much average for a place that clearly markets itself as part of its bohemian environment, but falls way short on all accounts. None of this would matter much if the staff wasn't trying to compensate the lack of sophistication... More

Mixed feelings here.. My partner had a great burger, all beefy, juicy, caramely & fresh. Good chips on the side. I had a weak attempt at a tabouli chicken salad. Torn lettuce & soaked grains covered in olive oil & 5 pieces of dried chicken does not cut it. Was not delicious. Service was meh, but the location was nice... More

This café is beneath a hotel but is independently owned. I was staying in the hotel so found it that way but would have come here regardless. The decor is really funky and welcoming and the staff are attentive but not pushy. The boys who serve are great fun and even remember what you like ... in my case extra... More

Very nicely decorated cafe located close to Galata tower. Wifi is fast and consistent. We've tried it for breakfast and lunch. Food does not disappoint, but coffee was below average. Service is typical in my experience in Istanbul; a little unenthusiastic, but generally helpful. Never rushed out, or made to think we stayed too long. Would come back for sure.... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
