This is a rather down-to-earth seafood restaurant. Small. Very nice owners. I had a feeling that they cooked whatever was the catch of the day and this was very good. Again, very simple but they managed to bring out the taste rather masterfully, with little ingredients. Listen to the owner's recommendations!

The seafood was fresh and the staff was friendly and attentive. Feels like a local spot. Intimate restaurant. You can see the chef cooking your food right in front of you.

This is just the sweetest place. Romantic, casual, warm, and simple. Jazz playing, candles lit, a perch to relax in bustling Galata central. Try the shrimps in butter—we've ordered it everywhere that it's on offer, and Furreyya's is among the city's finest. We'll be back for the fish durum, which many locals have told us is their innovative take on... More

This small restaurant is steps away from the Galata Tower, but since it is tucked around the corner, also feels like a local place. Chic design, jazz playing, uncompromisingly good food. We liked it so much, that we came back a couple weeks later on our return swing through Istanbul. Huge fresh salads. Generous, tasty and well-prepared mains. Well worth... More

We had a family meal here in April 2016. Two of us had grilled sea bream, which was prepared perfectly. One had grilled calamari which was also great - calamari is difficult to get just right but they managed it. Our vegetarian daughter had a couple of very nice vegetable dishes. Service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant is tiny... More

It's a relatively small and cozy restaurant with great fresh seafood. The prices are average. Definitely worth visiting!

I had lunch here a few months ago. It's a terrific place. The seafood was excellent, and the soup beforehand was very tasty. It's also located in an interesting area, so it's fun to sit and watch the street while you're eating (and then explore the area afterwards). The service is friendly, and I'm sure I'll go back next time... More

Since my first visit in January 2013, I've come back to this place quite regularly. The prices have gone up slightly and unfortunately, they have lost their license to sell alcohol, but the food is still worth going. Everything is fresh and very tasty and the service is friendly and very attentive. It's a small restaurant, but with a very... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
