We came here for late dinner after Magrib around 9 and it didn't look too busy and food menu pictures looked fab. The wait was terrible- nearly an hour. By that time wife wanted to collapse and we literally sat in silence because we were so hungry. When food arrived it was decent, but it was tepid warm so it... More

There were many options from the menu that couldn't be prepared because they lacked ingredients. The food and the service were not great, it is highly overpriced. There are other places much more convenient.

Must try! Had lunch with my wife and a very good friend. Fish done very well, Kebabs are delicious. Excellent food, best appetizers we had in Istanbul. Impeccable Service and great ambiance. Very near Hagia Sofia, Cistern and the Blue Mosque.

Visited here with my partner after we stumbled upon it accidently. Lovely atmosphere even though it was quiet. The prices are decent for it being a very touristy area. The meals were a really good portion size and the staff more than helpful. We couldn't decided on a starter so the first waiter suggested that they'd be happy to do... More

I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel next door and I couldn't have been luckier to have this restaurant so close by. I ate here several times in a week because they food was delicious and the staff were so friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very warm and inviting, especially with the fireplace on cool days and nights. I... More

The mixed grill of seafood is delicious. Fresh fish, not over seasoned and perfectly grilled. The service was excellent. It's a little bit pricey but well worth it.

Warm smile and an open wood fire set a friendly atmosphere among all guests. The food was excellent with something for everyone, including us as vegetarians. We returned after our first visit and noticed that other visitors had done the same. The location is handy near Aya Sofia and the tram line.

Kayıkci is my all time favourite restaurant. Nice interior to have lunch or dinner on your own/ with family or friends . In the cold season an open fire place keeps you warm, in the warmer months enjoy a table al fresco as this includes people watching. Try the variety meze (starters), main course variation is also very diverse and... More

The waiter invited us in our mother tongue and so we decided to take a look at the menu. We weren't disappointed, had grilled calamaris as appetizer and a delicious steak. The service was great. Thanks

Great Food and lovely service worth a visit! The restaurant is down a small street lined with eateries and we ate there twice because the food and the staff were excellent.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
