The Palato Cafe offered pleasant and solicitous service and good food. A couple of dishes were even excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant.

We ate in this restaurant several times because the food was good and Ozzy was very helpful and understanding about our need for gluten-free meals. Yes,it is on the tourist drag and there was often many customers eating here, which is a good sign when nearby places were empty, but the staff were very helpful and it is a much recommended... More

The reason for my making a revision, is I make a mistake and gave the wrong name for the manager. I asked Trip adviser if their could correct my error, their answer was no, the only option they have is to remove any offensive entries, so I withdrew my earlier entry, and now the correct information. Whilst I like Turkish... More

This restaurant is in a lively street in the old Sultanhamet area of the cuty, full of other restaurants and hotels, about 10 minutes' walk from the Blue Mosque. You can eat inside or out, where there are overhead heaters. It offers good Turkish food at a reasonable price, but not 'gourmet' There are set menus for about 10 or 13.90... More

A lovely place to stop for a great snack break, coffee, lunch or dinner with friendly staff and good food. Everyone will feel comfortable here and it's good value too.

We saw some excellent reviews, so decided to try it out. The food was 'fine' -- standard for the area. The service was so-so; waiters were not attentive and one was downright snobbish. With so many choices, we will not be back here.

People being dragged in on a promise of a great meal. None of us thought it was very good food or service once you were in their mission was complete.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
