Günaydin is a restaurant chain that is all about excellent meat.
One of the steakhouses is located in Istinye Park shopping centre. On warm days, guests have access to a large terrace, but the interior is also nicely decorated. The wood-fired stone oven provides excellent aromas for the Lahmacun. The quality of the meat has remained top for years. Unfortunately, the prices of meat have increased significantly during this time. Nevertheless, we always like to come here.
The service is very friendly and very attentive. Some of the guest rooms could do with better ventilation. The preparation of a large part of the food over open fires results in a certain odor nuisance.

Visited this restaurant on recommendation from a colleague. Was not disappointed. Good choice of steak. Nice goat's cheese salad as starter. Very good Merlot to accompany the steak.

Nice outside terrace nested in the classic stylish modern environment: shopping center.
The food was fresh and good, service ok a tad disjointed (party of 8), but meat was cooked as it should in this country. Side salad nice as dessert.
Not a must, but if around, ca go without a doubt.

I remember this Gunaydin restaurant when it was a high quality, good service and good food operation. At the time it was indoors. Now it is huge and includes outdoors and I tried it for old times sake. It was a big mistake as it has gone down considerably on all measures.
- food is very average.
- service is ok, and waiters lack proper decorum and style. Instead they keep banging old plates and dishes ruining the atmosphere.
- our table was actually sticky and not clean. It was obvious that hygiene is no longer important and this is a big surprise for any major restaurant in Turkey.
Its clear that Gunaydin is just chasing the tourist dollars without maintaining the old style and quality. I am certain that I wont be back.

We had dinner there in our last evening in Istanbul. The staff was in a huge rush and brought all 10 plates (for 4 people) , starters, salads and main courses at the same time, which was pretty overwelming. Before even finishing our meal the waiter told us we had to rush cause the restaurant would close in 20 minutes. And while we were still eating the waiter demanded we pay directly and told us again to finish as possible. Had this not been enough, after having paid and given our tip, a second waiter audaceously asked for even more tip despite the bad quality service. The food was nevertheless fair.

We have been going there for years and most of the times it was very good. Better than NUSRET.
Now they renovated and changed the place a bit but not for the best.
It is impersonal and has lost the character.
Also the menu has changed but for the worst.
I ordered Bon filet and received salad with little pieces of meat.
A waiter by mistake threw a glass of red wine on my white shirt and absolutely destroyed it and nobody said anything or acknowledged it.
On the contrary we paid even for the glass of wine they threw, and they also demanded tips for the staff. I wonder if there is a manager or what.
Don't go there.

SAVE YOUR MONEY
The food was good but o er priced , once we asked for the cheque the waiter asked for 10% as service charge and once I asked him is this a tip he told me no it is a service charge not a tip. This is not accepted and its just a tourist trap I don't recommend it there is a lot better places in galat port , and I wounder why there is no English speaking waiters while most of the customers are tourists .
This is very bad for such big brand.

One of the juiciest durums I've had in turkey !! The meat slices are the right amount of crispy on the outside and some are tender, so they balance themselves out. the order is enough for two. The place is so good we ate in it twice in a 5 day stay

Food was good. The service was awfull. They gave us a feeling that they wanted to get rid of us asap. We ordered a starter, and we didn’t even eat the half of our starter and they are moving our starter plate to put the main dish, inmiddle of our eating time. We got a table right next to the water & dishes station. We asked to change and the manager refused our request saying that all the other tables were reserved (eventually they removed the statjon afterwards). The atmosphere at the restaurant is really bad, the restaurant crew needs to learn how to be nice and humble to the customers that don’t appear rich. Fact : expensive restaurant for a BAD SERVICE.

When I heared about this resturent, i thought I might have something special,but what I had last night it was really disappointed, I ordered 1 adana beef kebab, 1 vege kebab, shish tawoq, lahmajon, Turkish pizza, hummus.
Nothing was nice except the hummus.
It's too expensive for nothing.
Istanbul full of other great resturent, better than wasting your time and your money eating in this one.

I went with my mother and sister yesterday for dinner. The service is so bad and irrespectful. In addition to the prices they are so expensive and not tasty at all . I really don’t recommend it. Its so overrated we paid 170 TL for one soup , 3 mini burgers , one small piece of steak and one sausage

Lamb shank and T bone steak were very average.
Especially the lamb shank could have been served in a much better way instead of some overheated mass of meat on a bone. The prices are outrageous for the quality!
