In search of benedict eggs.... We found the place. Turkysh style, quite interesting benedict. Grilled breakfast plate is also worth trying.

We had a lovely evening in this restaurant: service is very discreet and attentive, food was delicious - we had the prawns for starters, then the chicken curry and their Bodrum typical plate. Everything was delicious and very good value for money. The terrace is quiet and in a lovely neighborhood.

We dropped in here one morning and had the traditional Turkish breakfast. It is a great spread and definitely filled us up - particularly the delicious bread! Service was absolutely fine, and we came away happy.

I have been to Kahvedan for several times: always very satisfied. Yesterday evening I went there with a friend and we ordered a Club Sandwich, an American Sandwich and Peppermint Tea. It took ages, the service was disappointing and we were more or less ignored or maybe the waiters just had a bad day. The food was not as good... More

This place was always busy, which we took to be a good sign. Food turned out to be a bit of a let down for what we paid. Probably should have known from the many strange choices on the menu, from Thai to Turkish. Maybe it would be wiser to concentrate on fewer dishes that are executed really well and... More

Kahvedan is a very modest yet hospitable cafe/restaurant on a hip little street in Cihangir. There are many other options but this is a good choice. You can sit inside or out. The outdoor tables spill onto the street. Music is cool, service is attentive and polite. We dined on grilled vegetables, ravioli and Singapore noodles. With three beer and... More

Every time I visit Istanbul, I need to go back to Kahvedan for their various breakfasts. Fresh ingredients, nice staff & good location even though sometimes the terrace is packed at early hours. Ransom of success.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
