If you are staying in the Karakoy area, I would recommend checking out this restaurant for breakfast (Kahvalti). The restaurant has no English menu and operates on a 'buffet' style. Essentially after you get your table you line up at the deli counters and pick what you want. There was a bit of confusion at first as we thought we... More

It's fun to have breakfast there as you choose want you want.. but the food is expensive yet can be found in other areas. ممتع إنك تفطر بوسط محل للنواشف وخلافه لكن الخدمة عادية والأكل غالي ومو اختراع..

One of the best places for a breakfast / lunch. If you are there, try kaymak, you will love it! And if it's warm enough, take a place outside, you will enjoy the view!

Visited this restaurant this morning and had the best breakfast ever. It is a traditional turkish gurme and breakfast restaurant. At first we were lost and didnt know how to order but they have explained and assisted us. Perfect

We got menemen (scrambled eggs), assorted salad and toasted cheese bread. Everything tasted bland, very bland. You can find way better tasting food at most roadside restaurants. So disappointed!

This place is always full at any time of the day but it really does not deserve this popularity at all.... I had brunch here twice. First one was disastrous but I thought there was something wrong that specific day as people love this place, wait in queue to be served. So, I tried it again last weekend but it... More

Namli is situated in the very central Karakoy and is popular amongst locals, bustling at any given time. The food is of very high quality but is also pricey. Getting service in English is trickey with waiters getting annoyed if you are indecisive or don't know how to order at the buffet station. I went for breakfast and would suggest... More

Although it is not a cheap place, we love to eat there because of so many varieties. In the beginning, we found that it is not easy to make an order. Just followed the local ways : )

The place is amazing and really busy but its worth the trip, the waiting and anything you might think of.. if you are looking for cheeses, salami, sausages, olives, pastrami and other items that makes a superior delicatessen then this the place that you really want and should go to..

Staying in Karakoy

Neighbourhood Profile
Karakoy
Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most historically significant area, it’s currently one of the most happening parts of town as well. Here street vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks of the Horn where the views of major attractions across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions, such as the iconic 14th century Galata Tower and the Museum of Modern Art. A major hub for local and international waterborne traffic, Istanbul’s commercial and maritime heritage remains as relevant and evident as ever in Karakoy. Commuter ferries mingle with luxury cruise liners at its busy port, ensuring a continuously cosmopolitan flow of people..
