Had a great lunch today at the Pagoda. Historic old building with great food. Really good iced coffee, had some delicious short eats (prawn rolls and stuffed chillies were really good) then we both had the chicken lamprai. It was delicious and had a nice spicy kick to it. Definitely a place to visit again!

Best ice coffee I've had so far in the city. Friendly staff. Spacious and clean building. Didn't have time to enjoy the rice and curry. Had some shorteats. A bit oily, but not disappointing.

We came here for lunch. Their very sweet and quite small iced coffees were nice, their eclair was tasty, however the waiter talked us out of what we were going to order and brought over two fairly bland and expensive fried rice dishes. Go for a cake and a tea, but I wouldn't bother with lunch.

This iconic restaurant and tea room in the Fort has been a well known Colombo institution for decades. It used to be the place of choice for "lunch" in the city. It serves superb simple rice and curry at lunchtime and has a selection of delicious pastries, savoury and sweet, to eat in or take away. The pastries are also... More

We dropped in for a light evening meal of their various pastries, and they were really nice and at very good prices. I think we had 7 savouries plus some cold drinks for 780 rupees. The iced coffee was very nice, service was excellent. Definitely somewhere to go for lunch. Get in early as we went around 5pm and most... More

In these kind of places you enter for the history and old world charm - in this place, which was very well maintained and clean for a place that old (established 1884 -- WOW !!!!) its a large cafe cum tea room - along with tea you can order a wide variety of inexpensive and tasty snacks along with patties,... Place is very clean and tidy. Staff also very friendly. Food also really tasty. Worth for giving price. They have range of rice meals.. Also there sweets are best in town. Especially their cakes. Recommended to go with families, friends or couples..

Being in the old Fort area, we felt we had to visit this venerable, even iconic tea room. It certainly was like stepping back in time, its genteel shabbiness evoking the colonial past. It is a basic cafe and tea room, but it certainly has a special atmosphere! We had tea and pastries, the Ceylon tea was nice, the pastries... More

Very airy restaurant/cafe in an old colonial building. Obviously popular with locals especially businessmen on their lunch or tea break which is always an indication of whether an eating place is good because if the locals eat there then it is! Closes late afternoon. Tuesday Lunch Special is local food wrapped in banana leaf consisting of rice, vegetable, chicken, a... More

My wife and I had lunch here with our tuk tuk driver Saman. The best in Colombo, call him on 0722833682. The food was good, the service did leave a bit to be desired. If you want to try something different, they have marshmallow pudding. It is pretty sweet.
