Lovely setting. Good service. Good wine list. Duck was amazing. With asparagus and potato. Tuna salad lovely. Gin fizz to finish. Highly recommended

My husband and I stopped here for an early dinner after stopping to see the That Dam Stupa. We had a wonderful dinner - one of the tastiest we've had on our journey with a great bottle of Chilean Cabernet. The total cost of our meal/wine was about 400,000 Kip. The service was also professional and speedy. We would return... More

The best Margarita since Phnom P. I had the duck breast. A bit overcooked. Orange sauce good. Hubby had NZ tenderloin. The meat was very good. But the pepper sauce is not pepper! Tasted like Worcester sauce. Someone should teach the chef. The blue cheese better. The portions are not too big. We could eat it all. Icecream good. Service... More

The service was good! The food was pretty great! And the bread excellent! Good selection of wines! Caesar salad was very good best thing I had! Pork ribs were terrible, very chewy! Pesto pasta was good but too much sauce! Bread was super! Great service!

Just around the corner from the New Rose where I was staying, the That Dam Restaurant is a nice choice for a place to sample a variety of local specialties. Quiet (unless you're seated next to a noisy table) and friendly, right across the street from the That Dam.

It's a good and fantastic one place in Vientian. But maybe a little slow service if you come in big group.

This restaurant is attached to a wine cellar that has a great selection of European and new world wines. Prices aren't too bad for Laos where one expects to pay more for imported wines (all wines are imported of course). In the restaurant they provide the wines, many from a chiller, at cellar prices so that's a big plus. The... More

I confess to being a regular of this place for many reasons. You can nick next door and pick up a great bottle of wine, some harissa or whatever other exotic ingredients they have there, you can usually get a parking spot unlike the rest of this choked up city, the stupa is after all this time still complelling, you... I actually think it's good value for money. For $12, I got seafood spaghetti (with shrimps and squid and lots of veggies), fried rice with seafood (ok, I like seafood) and caramel cream (or crème brulee). Yes, that is a bit expensive compared to other local restaurants but if you think of its ambience, location and compare with other western... More
