A short distance away from downtown by Tuk Tuk. Not visible from the main street. Excellent view of the Mekong . Shady trees... Great ambience. Good choice of food. The green curry was great. Having a cold Beerlao while enjoying the fresh air and the view across the Mekong of Isaan Thailand is the best thing to do in Vientiane.

Right on the banks of the Makong river is this restaurant that really stands for its name. I ate here twice during my stay in Vientiane. Both times the food was amazing and the staff is really friendly, maybe a bit on the flirty side. There Pommes Frites is one of the best I've every had.

I am for the most part a huge fan of Kong View. Have been to the restaurant many times over the last 2 years. Was excited to return after being back in the USA for the past 6 months. My goodness, I just can figure out why it's so difficult to bring items like rice at the same time as... More

The Kong View is tucked away from the main road sitting on the edge of the Mekong. It is an ideal place to go to see the sunset over the river while grabbing some beer. Dinner is good, but not necessarily outstanding.

Great food, nice view and ambiance. Entertained by the musician while you having your meal by the side of Mekong river. Try the Mekong fish, tasty and crunchy.

I love going to Kong View! The food is great! The strawberry smoothies are the best in the city. The view is great. Generally these is not any parking issues. The wait staff seems to always be pretty quick. I could give the Kong View 5 stars, but I do have one issue that continues to anger me every time,... More

It's a great traditional lao restaurant, close the the mekong river. The restaurant itself is quiet and comfortable, but the entrance way is terrible. Sitting along the mekong river, listening the gentle lao/thai romantic songs, you feel totally you were lao. However, the food for me are not so delight, too heavy for me, lots of salt, chilli, aginomoto. Hope... More

Its a nice place for dinner. They offer a variety of food and we may enjoy the food with a beautiful stream of flowing Mekong.
