We were very hungry when we got to Steinbrau so the long wait we had for service was not pleasant. And, the place was basically empty when we got there so it was not like they were especially busy. On a positive note, the beer was good, brewed at the restaurant, the garden was pleasant, though a bit run-down, and... More

This micro brewery in Bishkek tries hard to live up to its German image, and does a decent job of it. Their locally brewed unfiltered beers are well worth trying. And even if the menu is larger than the actual meals available on the night, you will find some dish that will be fully satisfactory. Our waiter had little English... More

I went there with a friend of mine an hour before they closed. When we got there it took them 25 minutes to get to our table and ask if we wanted anything considering that I went up to the counter and asked if any waiters could serve our table. They did not even apologize when I told them that... More

Just visited this restaurant in Bishkek. We had a large group of of around 25. Without going into great detail they were a total rip off. Maybe if there were one or 2 people it would be ok. But it seems in numbers prices get inflated. A handful of sausages, a bit of salad and 4 beers comes to over... More

Ate there during my recent stay in Bishkek. Was desperate for some good fresh beer following a disappointing previous night at one of the city's other brewpubs, "Blonder Pub." The lagers at Steinbrau are the best which is no surprise since the Germans invented lagers. I had the pork shank and came with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, German Style. The... More

There were four types of home-brewed beer available on our visit, one seasonal and three regulars. The seasonal dark beer was massively disappointing, too sweet and watery. The lager was ok, nothing special and expensive for the price. Staff was uninterested in both the beer and the customers.

I really enjoy this place. It's quiet on the weekdays for a pint and pork leg. This place has been around for a while so most cabs know exactly where it is just by the name. The space is big and open with lots of room to get drunk on the house brew Steinbrau. Bring a coat during cooler months... More

Steinbrau is great place to have a beer in the afternoon. They have a few nice beers on tap and the atmosphere is pretty mellow. The only issue is the staff. They have table service, which means you need to ask a staff member to bring you another beer. This is all well and good, except that they often don't... More

We went to Steinbrau at the end of a long travel day with family and ended up having a great meal of sausages, sauerkraut, fries and beer. The beer, btw, is their own brew and pretty good. Very pleasant outdoor seating. Great service. A fun place to meet with friends or just unwind at the end of the day.

Really nice beer (4 types) brewed on site and great sausages and food. Lots of outdoor seating in summer and mostly standing room inside for winter. Sausages are excellent with a good variety. Only disappointment was that they do not regularly have pretzels even though they are on the menu! Would be nicer atmosphere outside if there was some light... More
