We ordered the sampler menu for $150,000 Dong each and it was a great way to be introduced to the unique dishes of this region. YUM!! The staff was great about showing how to eat each dish, what sauces to use, etc. We really enjoyed the entire experience.

Discover this restaurant by reading reviews about our hotel. Crowded restaurant on weekends (when we were there), as many foreigners as Vietnamese. A discovery menu for 6 euros allows you to taste several specialties. The boss speaks a little French and explains how to taste the different dishes. Interessant

Localino overlooking the street, in a central location but just secluded, just enough to avoid chaos. Restricted menu but accompanied by very useful explanatory photographs. One of the waitresses also speaks English, so ordering and understanding how to eat exactly the dishes is extremely simple. The service is incredibly fast, compared to the long Vietnamese times. I tasted and really liked the fresh goi cuon rolls with shrimp and cashew sauce, the banh nam wrapped in banana leaves and the banh cuon, wrapped in steamed rice paste. All delicious. Total €6.

We came here after a long day of sightseeing and it did not disappoint. The menu had a good range of Vietnamese dishes and the staff were very friendly and showed us how to eat all of the food we ordered which was so great. Would definitely recommend ordering the Banh Beo (rice cakes with pork and shrimp) - we were skeptical at first but they were absolutely delicious and by far one of our favourite foods in Vietnam.

I had read that this restaurant offered a tasting platter of local foods and that they showed you how to eat each dish so I was keen to try it. The restaurant had a local feel about it. Lots of tables that were shared and lots of fans around the place to try and cool you down. We came for dinner and was pleased to see if full of locals as well as westerners. We ordered the set tasting menu for 2 people (it was too much in hindsight we should have ordered one) and a couple of beers. The banh beo was nice and the guy showed us that you had pour lots of fish sauce on to be able to remove them. The fresh spring rolls were probably the nicest item out of the 5. I didn’t like the Nem Lui pork skewers at all, just tasted of salt. The fried omelette was very oily and the fried spring rolls were nice. So in the end I was somewhat disappointed with this meal but its probably a good introduction to local cuisine, you will just find different versions of the dishes wherever you go.

We loved this place. Cool under a fan and clean with lots of servers. The head feller speaks crackingly good English and helped us with how to eat our ban kheoi (split it up, whack some greens in a bowl, put the rice omelette pancake on top and drizzle with peanut sauce). We also had the new Lui (grab a piece of rice paper, whack greens inside, take the pork off the lemongrass skewer and wrap it up and dip and yum!!! Also had ban cuon and cold beer. Get. Involved.

We arrived about 5 PM, which may seem early but turned out to be perfect. The main dining room was already busy (with people we believed were locals, many families etc.). By the time we left, tables there had turned and the side dining area —where we sat, at the edge with view of main room—had completely filled. The noise level was also much higher, as someone else noted, so if that’s an issue go even earlier. The set menu provides a tasting of 5 diverse selections @ 150,000 Dong; see photos (from regular size orders) for complete details. Other recent reviews have good photos of the actual food, and it was all delicious. Our waiter spoke good English and explained how to eat several items. For instance, for Nem Lui: laying the pork stick on rice paper, then adding lettuce, cucumbers and slaw, pulling out the lemon grass stick, rolling it up and then dipping into a small bowl of peanut sauce. Definitely recommended.

We ordered vegetable pancakes. The dish was served with pure soysauce which was too salty and poorly tasted. In general, the quality is even worse than that of street food vendors and it is too pricey. Don't go there at least if you are a vegan.

I choose Quan Hans based on the recommendation of a local and was very pleased. On arrival it was packed and energetically loud, but they were able to seat me within five minutes at a family style table. The young server was helpful, prompt, and gently coached me on the "right way" to eat several dishes (I was trying to eat the lemongrass skewer of the Nem Lui). The couple seated next to me were also helpful and even let me try their Banh Beo which was sold out when I ordered. Very convivial vibe, lots of locals, and great local food. Highly recommend....

Very average and bland food. We had 3 dishes. The Banh Khoai was oily and tasteless. Special fried rice no different to a British Chinese takeaway, Nem Lui (lemongrass pork) tasted like over-processed meat. Peanut sauce was watered down and bland and accompanying ‘leaves’ too dominated by lettuce. And it cost more than a big BBQ pork dish, chicken skewers, sticky rice and 2 beers from a restaurant the night before. You can get better, tastier, cheaper food elsewhere

As my taxi driver dropped me off at my hotel, he suggested Hanh as a place for dinner. It was reasonably close to my hotel so I walked the few blocks to the restaurant. The menu was extensive and and being a first time tourist to Vietnam, about the only foods I knew were Pho and Banh Mi so I was a little overwhelmed The patrons were mixed with about 40% tourists and 60% locals. That told be that the food was tasty and authentic. I asked the owner what she recommended and her reply was "Oh. So many things.". She did turn to their tasting menu that consisted of 6 dishes, and the price was about $5, that seemed like a good place to start. The dishes came at about the same time. There were 3 of each item on 6 different plates. Wow! So much food! Everything tasted wonderful, I did have a favorite or two, but there were no misses in the meal. The servers were fast and nice. The owner did stop by to check on the meal. I would have gone back the following day, but an unexpected storm came through and flooded the area. If you want a nice introduction to Hue's food this could be it for you.

Delicious meal. We wanted to try local Hue foods and this was strongly recommended. Staff were helpful when we did not know how to eat dishes that were new to us and everything was hot, fresh and so tasty. Always nice to support a local, family-owned business that makes great food! We will be returning here before we leave town.

Absolutely top notch, so fresh and tasty and such good value. The previous reviewer TJLawn MUST have got her wires crossed and muddled up her memories. It’s not one of the best rated restaurants in Hue my accident. It’s a busy and very popular eatery frequented by locals and visitors alike. It’s a no-frills place with simple decor, and a smallish menu choice, but all of that adds to the charm of the place. We ate crispy pancake, sticky rice and fresh rice paper rolls with tasty pork strips inside. All dipping sauces were insanely tasty as were the dishes. 10/10. Total bill without drinks was 160,000 dong or £5.12 or AU$ 9.92 Fantastic value.

Time 12 noon My partner and I chose this restaurant based on the review in The Lonely Planet review and today very much enjoyed the Set 5 dish meal served by helpful staff and an English speaking owner’s daughter. We travel a lot and only have limited time to try different restaurants so deliberately pick out our restaurants from The Lonely Planet travel guide book as it has never failed to impress. The food was great!
