We certainly went to the right Cha Ca La Vong and we didn’t expect to be disappointed. The name of the dish is misleading because it’s not grilled - it was already cooked before serving on to you and then cooked again vigorously in a...More

The receipt says No. 17 Cha Ca - but signage outside is No. One 14. We think it is a SCAM. Our hotel recommended the place and we walked in Old Quarter to locate it. Miniscule portions of overcooked rubbery fish. Very OVERPRICED.

I have read the review saying that the bad ratings are due to the competition across the street, it is not. We went to the original restaurant on the second floor with hardly any ventilation. They don't speak English so they give you a card...More

Beware of the scam restaurant claiming to be the highly rated 14 Cha Ca La Vong. There are 2 restaurants, one is fantastic, the other is a abysmal and is a fraud. We made the mistake of going to the fake restaurant that claims to...More

We ate here 3 time while in Hanoi I have read about the small portions but this restraunt caters for local dinners for 100 years and they are not gluttons as we in the west are and for $6.00 why not get a snack somewhere...More

My friends, colleagues and acquaintances in Hanoi have boycotted this place since long. They have benefited by a false reputation unfortunately produced by people who don't know much about our food. The food is nothing better than other Cha Ca restaurants in Hanoi, the price...More

There are so many nice cha ca places around Hanoi. This is totally skippable. You sit in such a tight space, where the staff act with such authority of being a “heritage restaurant.” The fish weren’t of great quality, and by the end of the...More

Went there for Cha Ca after a number of years - this is probably the 3rd or 4th time eating there. The food is basically fried fish (although it's advertised as grilled) in a pan fired by solid/gel fuel. The fish sits in some oil...More

The food tasted good, oily mixed tumeric. Fish texture was nice. They served the grilled fish in a pan either for 2 ppl to share or 4. Fish portions were small. Nice cozy place to enjoy the grilled fish. 170k dong per person not inclusive...More

Tourists, be aware! It was recommended by our local tour guide. They serve locals very nice, but tourists differently in terms of portion, services, specially the prices after we compared the three tables next to us. After numerous complains and explanation with the help of...More

No!! Everyone please be aware that the restaurant across the road is a scam. We were recommended to go to this restaurant and ended up at the fake one in error. They have very cleverly slightly changed their name to "Cha Ca... More
