Finding it is the first challenge as the sign is above the alley entrance at the back of a silk store that fronts the property. You walk into the alley /courtyard entrance where you are brusquely waved upstairs. Go to the very top for the terrace view to the Hoan Kiem lake. Not a wide or great view but pleasant on a hot day. Waitresses are nice. Egg Coffee is sweet and creamy.

The café is hidden behind a clothes store, making it a little difficult to find. The view from the top is quite fantastic, and the interior garden is amazing. The coffee was excellent. We sampled some coffee with eggs, some with salt, and some with coconut.
I'd suggest going for a lovely cup of coffee in the heart of Hanoi's Old Quarter.

I knew of this through a tv travel program. Otherwise, I’d have never imagined a cafe could be here. As you enter, you feel a little special… as if you only know, if you know.
My partner and I both had egg coffee. Personally, it’s the nicest egg coffee I had in Vietnam. Thick, rich, loads of flavour. My partner, on the other hand, preferred Cafe Giang (the birthplace of egg coffee), which we tried the following day. I found Cafe Giang bland, by comparison to Cafe Pho Co.
The botanical courtyard, the first floor balcony, the flavour of the egg coffee and the secret hideaway location, all make the is a MUST visit. Oh, and most other customers seemed to be locals… which is always good sign!

I don't like to be negative. But this place no where near lived up to its high rating.
Always kinda suspicious when asked to pay up-front and turned out yo be correct.
Horrible stale coffee that felt it had been reheated and my food never arrived. When asked where my food was I was told I'd already eaten it ^^.
Steel clear is my suggestion

The cafe is a little hard to find, tucked behind a tailor shop. The building itself is really cool, with three levels of seating. Not sure how they find you once you’ve ordered butt hey managed anyway! The coffees took a little while to get to us but we weren’t too bothered, as the view from the top is quite cool. The coffees were amazing. We had an egg coffee, a salt coffee, and a mocha.
Would recommend for a nice coffee in the middle of Hanoi’s Old Quarter.

A must if you wanna have egg coffee in a very unique hanoian place (second floor terrace, interior garden). I have to say that this place is beautiful. Note... egg coffee is not for everybody. I'm a sweets person and a coffee person, but for some reason, I just didn't like egg coffee, so keep that in mind.

Hard to find, but a lovely payoff as you enter a lush courtyard and four floors to choose from. I came for the egg coffee, but decided on an egg cocoa instead (delicious)) and then later in avocado smoothie.
This is a great spot to just sit, sip, and unwind a few minutes. Good Wi-Fi, too!

Cafe was hidden behind a clothing store but it was not hard to find. Nice interior, every corner is picture worthy. A cooling place to chill on a hot sunny day in Hanoi and have a cup of egg coffee.

Delicious egg coffee at Cafe Pho Co in central Hanoi with lovely rooftop view across the lake. Worth ascending the stairs to get the spectacular views in pleasant relaxed surroundings

Enter the clothing shop, pass the alley, pay for your coffee and climb the stairs to the rooftop cafe. Nice place for enjoying the sweetness of the egg coffee while remembering the bitterness of 20th century history.

This is one of my favourite coffee spots in Hanoi. Sandwiched between 2 clothing shops, it's easy to miss. With strong Chinese influences and a serenity unlike the bustling streets of the Old Quarter, make your way up the narrow and winding staircases to the highest floor to enjoy amazing views overlooking the Hoàn Kiếm Lake.
